Qiao Nuo still couldn't go to work because as soon as she stepped out, A Shan begged her to stay, insisting that their young master was too delicate and needed someone to take care of him. A Shan's earnest words made it hard for Qiao Nuo to refuse, especially since A Shan was a pretty decent person.

All work-related matters were handled through phone calls or video conferences with Alice.
As for Qiao Nuo, she became his personal caretaker.
“Jin Chengyan, what do you plan to have for lunch?” The most frequent conversations between Qiao Nuo and Jin Chengyan revolved around what he had for breakfast, what he would have for lunch, and what he wanted for dinner.
“Braised pork,” Jin Chengyan replied, leaning back on the sofa while reviewing documents.
“You can't eat something so greasy after being sick…” Even though he had already recovered.
“Then what's the point of asking me?”
“……” Qiao Nuo found herself hitting a wall again.
Jin Chengyan glanced at Qiao Nuo before quickly looking away. Just then, A Shan's newly purchased phone rang on the sofa.
He picked it up and frowned immediately, ruthlessly pressing the hang-up button.
The phone rang incessantly, and Jin Chengyan hung up every time.
Finally, on the fourth ring, he answered.
“I’m hanging up,” Jin Chengyan said, already pulling the phone away from his ear.
Qiao Nuo watched as Jin Chengyan's expression grew increasingly angry. She thought it best to leave, but then she heard her name.
“I know you know Qiao Nuo. Tell me where I can find her; I need to speak with her.” It was a man's voice.
Upon hearing her name, Qiao Nuo turned around to look at Jin Chengyan.
Jin Chengyan also looked up at her, but his expression was far from pleasant.
“Nothing to say,” he replied flatly, and even through the phone, the caller could likely sense the coldness radiating from him.
Qiao Nuo gazed at Jin Chengyan in confusion. Who could be calling him to ask about her?
Suddenly, she thought of someone—Yan Beiting.
That day, Jin Chengyan had clearly told Qiao Nuo to stay away from this man.
Although Qiao Nuo didn’t understand why Jin Chengyan felt that way—did he suspect she might cheat? But there was no commitment of loyalty between her and Jin Chengyan either.
She couldn’t hear what the other person was saying, but she saw Jin Chengyan stand up from the sofa before abruptly hanging up the call.
Nervously, she looked at Jin Chengyan. Could it be that Yan Beiting had said something bad about her?
“What's wrong... Is it... Yan Beiting looking for me?” Qiao Nuo said somewhat nervously, after all, Yan Beiting had mentioned considering marriage after meeting her that day!
“Qiao Nuo, I’m taking you to the hospital.”
Qiao Nuo felt that beneath Jin Chengyan's calm expression lay a storm of emotions.
“Why do we need to go to the hospital? Do you feel unwell? Should I call Doctor Qi over?” Qiao Nuo instinctively thought something was wrong with Jin Chengyan.
But after she spoke, she realized that Jin Chengyan was talking about taking her to the hospital.
A bad premonition crept into her heart as she looked at Jin Chengyan, her pupils involuntarily dilating.
Jin Chengyan said nothing and took a step forward, grabbing Qiao Nuo's hand as they exited the mansion.
He had heard from Yan Beiting that Qiao Nuo's father's condition had worsened, and they needed to hurry to the hospital; otherwise, they might not get a chance to see him one last time.
