These words pierced through the soul and reached the deepest part of life, lingering in Jin Chengyan's mind.
Whenever he closed his eyes, he could see Qiao Nuo lying in his arms four years ago, gripping the collar of his suit with her blood-stained hands, fiercely declaring those words.
At that moment, all he saw in her eyes was hatred.
Jin Chengyan lifted his head and rubbed his shoulders. He had managed to doze off at his desk earlier, but it hadn’t been restful.

“Knock knock knock—” The office door was knocked on. Jin Chengyan rubbed his temples and allowed the person to enter.
Alice placed a document in front of him. “Mr. Jin, the collaboration with the company has been finalized. They will send a representative tomorrow afternoon to sign the contract with us. However, they are still keeping the choice of architect confidential. Is that really okay?”
Jin Chengyan was set to build a skyscraper in Qin Cheng, aiming for it to become the tallest building there—a landmark for the city. The owner was a middle-aged German woman in her forties. Jin Chengyan had seen her photo and found her somewhat different from the capable woman he had imagined.
"Alright, I'll instruct them to prepare for tomorrow's signing ceremony," Alice said, holding a stack of documents signed by Jin Chengyan as she prepared to leave.
"Alice!" He called out to her but hesitated for a moment.
"Is there anything else, Mr. Jin?" Alice replied with her usual smile. However, upon seeing the indecisive expression on her boss's face, she understood something was amiss. "Mr. Jin, there’s still no news from A Shan."
Jin Chengyan nodded, but his expression had clearly darkened.
Alice chose not to say anything further and quietly exited the office.
It had been four years, Alice thought suddenly.
Four years since that explosion. They had never found Qiao Nuo's body; not even a trace of DNA was discovered—she had simply vanished! But at that time, Alice had been in surgery! How could anyone possibly escape from such a horrific scene?
After all, Ruan Shengyu, who was performing surgery on the fifth floor, hadn’t survived that disaster either. When the bodies were brought out, they were charred beyond recognition!
Yet Qiao Nuo remained missing!
Some speculated that since the sixth floor was the epicenter of the explosion, Qiao Nuo might have been obliterated beyond recovery.

At that moment, his phone rang. Seeing Jin Mengli's name on the screen, he suddenly remembered that his sister had returned from abroad today with Chu Yuxiu. He had promised to pick them up but had completely forgotten about it!
He answered the call, "I'll be there soon..."
"Uncle, Mom and I saw someone at the airport who looks like Aunt-in-law! You should hurry over!"
