“Oh my, it’s just a signing ceremony, right? Why has Mr. Jin decorated the venue like a wedding?” A senior executive whispered to the person next to him as he entered the hall.
The person beside him clicked his tongue. “You don’t know? I just heard from the president’s office that the company’s behind-the-scenes boss is the ex-wife’s brother-in-law!”
“Why do you say ‘ex-wife’? Isn’t Mr. Jin still denying his divorce?”
“Do you know what ‘widower’ means?”
“Oh…” It suddenly dawned on him that the president’s wife had perished in that shocking explosion and shooting incident four years ago, leaving no ashes behind!
Thinking about it this way, their president was indeed quite devoted. For four years, there hadn’t been a whisper of scandal about him. Aside from necessary interactions with women at work, he hadn’t been seen alone with another woman for more than a minute!
His late wife had only one brother, so naturally, their president would take this signing ceremony seriously!
“Mr. Jin is here! Mr. Jin is here!” The senior executive immediately dropped the gossip upon seeing Jin Chengyan walk in.
Today, Mr. Jin looked more handsome than ever. His tall stature, flawless features, and the aura surrounding him made it impossible for those young ladies to suppress their admiration, even if his heart still belonged to his deceased wife!
“Mr. Jin, did we arrive too early?” With a minute left until the official signing time, according to Jin Chengyan’s usual habit, he would appear right on time. However, today he had arrived much earlier.
Of course, Alice knew why he was so concerned!
She had heard that their chief architect would also be present today!
This meant that Jin Chengyan would see his wife, whom he hadn’t laid eyes on for four years, at this signing ceremony!
Alice had specifically brought him a suit that Jin Chengyan was most satisfied with, complete with a tie and a pocket square. His shoes were polished to a shine; he dressed impeccably to present his best self before her.
He hoped that after four years, his appearance would still captivate Qiao Nuo and that she wouldn’t be able to look away when she first saw him.
He sat on the side representing Jin and occasionally glanced at his watch. Although he appeared calm on the surface, he knew he was as nervous as a seventeen or eighteen-year-old boy!
“Are you really going, Sis?” Qiao Chen asked, already standing downstairs at Jin's building. She grabbed her sister's wrist, taking in her polished appearance.
A white shirt was paired with a fitted blazer, and tailored trousers of the same color accentuated her curves perfectly.
Her long hair was styled into a bun at the back of her head, and her makeup leaned towards cooler tones. After four years, her sister had transformed completely.
“I came back to resolve the issues between him and me. Even if I don’t come here today, he’ll find me tomorrow,” Qiao Nuo replied. She hadn’t yet told Qiao Chen about seeing Jin Mengli yesterday; knowing Jin Mengli’s personality, she was sure he had already informed Jin Chengyan.
As for why Jin Chengyan hadn’t sought her out yesterday, it was likely because he was still reeling from the shock of becoming a father.
Qiao Chen nodded and released Qiao Nuo’s wrist, her expression returning to normal.
Behind them was the company’s team; today’s signing with Jin was significant for both parties, and the media was keenly interested.
After all, one was the most influential company in Qin Cheng, while the other was a rising star in recent years. Every move they made was under public scrutiny.
However, when the Qiao siblings appeared at the signing ceremony, the atmosphere became electric!

She had lost weight; her face looked noticeably thinner. The waist that used to be easily grasped by one hand now seemed small enough to encircle with just one hand. Her long legs, clad in tailored trousers, appeared even more slender!
Moreover, she had become even more stunning; the cooler tones suited her perfectly. The expression of disdain she wore conveyed an air of confidence that had never been so vividly displayed on her face before!
Jin Chengyan felt that he might soon be at a loss for words. He could only watch as the brother and sister approached him, Qiao Chen politely shaking his hand and addressing him as "Mr. Jin."
Then, Qiao Nuo extended her hand.
"Hello, Mr. Jin. I am the Chief Architect of the company, Faye." She smiled slightly, her demeanor distant and formal, as if they had never met before.
Jin Chengyan snapped back to reality at Qiao Nuo's smile.

"Hello, Faye!" Jin Chengyan took her hand; her fingers were cool to the touch. Just like every night in the past, he slowly warmed her icy fingers with his grip.
She calmly withdrew her hand and stood beside Qiao Chen, exuding an air of noble aloofness like a peacock in front of Jin and the employees, as well as the reporters present.
The audience gradually settled down due to the undercurrents on stage. After all, even their Jin Shao showed little emotional fluctuation, though anyone with keen eyes could see the restlessness beneath Jin Chengyan's calm exterior!
But he controlled it well!
The signing ceremony proceeded smoothly. Jin Chengyan and Qiao Chen both signed their names on the contract, holding it up for photos on stage.
Unexpectedly, Jin Chengyan insisted on having Qiao Nuo stand in the middle!
With so many eyes watching from below, Jin Chengyan's insistence seemed to freeze the moment on stage!
Qiao Nuo pressed down on Qiao Chen and slowly stepped between them, suppressing the rising anger.
Suddenly, a hand rested on her waist.
Just moments ago, with so many eyes upon them, Jin Chengyan had held back to maintain the rhythm of the signing ceremony. Now that he had a chance to get closer, could he remain indifferent?
Qiao Nuo shifted slightly at her waist; the hand did not move away.
"Mr. Jin, do you always flirt with female employees from partner companies?" A soft voice slipped from Qiao Nuo's lips, audible only to the two of them due to their proximity.
Jin Chengyan moved closer to Qiao Nuo, their faces just a few inches apart. Suddenly, he tightened his grip, forcing Qiao Nuo to press against him.
"I'm just teasing you," his ambiguous words reached Qiao Nuo's ears, enveloped by the masculine aura he exuded.
However, he seemed unable to make Qiao Nuo blush anymore, even as he brazenly caressed her waist. Such an intimate and private gesture!
"Sorry, we're not familiar," Qiao Nuo replied coldly.
"Not familiar?" Jin Chengyan retorted in a tone that matched her chill. "You've already had my child and you're saying we're not familiar?"
Qiao Nuo's expression remained unchanged upon hearing his words; not even her eyebrows twitched. Her emotions were no longer swayed by him.
Meanwhile, the reporters below had finished taking pictures, most of which featured Qiao Nuo and Jin Chengyan together. Tomorrow's headlines would likely not focus on Jin's collaboration but rather on the reunion of Jin Shao and Madam Jin!
"Faye!" Qiao Chen suddenly grabbed Qiao Nuo's wrist. "Let's head back to the company."
"Qiao Nuo!" Jin Chengyan seized her other wrist, and the camaraderie they had moments ago vanished entirely.
With so many eyes watching from below, Qiao Nuo felt the atmosphere grow tense.
"Sorry, Mr. Jin, my name is Faye!" she struggled slightly to free her arm, correcting his mistake.
"Faye?" Jin Chengyan scoffed. "I think I need to remind you that you are Qiao Nuo, not Faye!" He suddenly reacted.
But below, Jin's security team appeared out of nowhere, preventing further photographs and gradually ushering people away.
This sudden commotion was all for Qiao Nuo.
Qiao Chen was no longer the same person he used to be; he firmly held onto his sister's wrist without any intention of letting go.
"Mr. Jin, are you planning to play hardball?" Qiao Chen's confident voice suggested he wasn't afraid of Jin Chengyan's tactics.
"Qiao Chen, this has nothing to do with you!"
“Faye's matters are my matters!”
Qiao Chen kept mentioning Faye, and it was driving Jin Chengyan crazy!
“Qiao Chen, you should go first. I’ll be back soon,” Qiao Nuo reassured Qiao Chen, fully aware that her brother would do anything for her.
If it weren't for her insistence this time, Qiao Chen probably wouldn't have agreed to collaborate with Jin.
Qiao Chen cast a deep glance at Qiao Nuo. Ultimately, he was reluctant to let her be alone with Jin Chengyan, but she was adamant!

“Not familiar, huh?” He held her chin, his breath fanning across her face as their bodies pressed tightly together. “Then let me do something to make you more familiar!”
