In the end, Qiao Nuo still took Jin Chengyan to the hospital.
However, they did not head to the hospital where Qi Ziluo worked; Qiao Nuo sat in the back seat.
The reason she was in the back was that Jin Chengyan said the front passenger seat was reserved for his wife, so Qiao Nuo could only sit in the back.
"Why aren't we going to Dr. Qi's hospital?" Qiao Nuo asked, glancing out at the road with a hint of confusion.
"Do you think I wanted my family to know I was having surgery?" Jin Chengyan replied calmly.
It suddenly dawned on Qiao Nuo that when Jin Zhongshu had come to her to sign the divorce agreement, it might have something to do with this situation.
Looking at Jin Chengyan in the driver's seat, Qiao Nuo found herself deep in thought for the first time. What was really going on in his mind?
On one hand, he wanted her to be his lover, yet on the other hand, he treated her so well.

The car stopped in the parking lot of a private hospital. Jin Chengyan unbuckled his seatbelt and got out first, standing by the car door for a long time without seeing Qiao Nuo follow him.
He opened the back door; was he really going to open it for her so she would get out?
"Qiao Nuo, I only open the car door for my wife. Consider this a special exception for you." He constantly reminded Qiao Nuo that all his kindness was meant for his wife.
Qiao Nuo got out of the car, placing her hand on the door. Their hands were merely a few inches apart.

“Why would I back out?” Did he not realize that this opportunity was a chance to keep Qiao Nuo by his side?

“Qiao Kawai is not your daughter; she has nothing to do with you.” She wasn’t even his wife. If he truly wanted a woman, why resort to such measures?
Jin Chengyan stared at Qiao Nuo, and after a long pause, he finally spoke, “Are you pretending to be confused, or do you really not understand?”
“Hmm?” Qiao Nuo replied, puzzled.
“Forget it; you’ll understand in time.” As he spoke, Jin Chengyan instinctively reached out to ruffle Qiao Nuo’s hair, a gesture so natural.
But just as his hand was about to touch her, he ultimately pulled it back.
Qiao Nuo watched as his hand rose and fell, her mood seemingly mirroring his movements.
In the end, neither of them said anything more as they walked into the hospital, one after the other.
Once inside, Qiao Nuo realized that Qiao Kawai had come with Qi Ziluo; Qiao Chen was nowhere to be found.
Looking at Jin Chengyan, he offered no further explanation. Perhaps it was true what he said—he had kept this from everyone in order to arrange for Qiao Kawai’s surgery, which was why Qiao Chen didn’t know.
However, when Qiao Kawai saw Jin Chengyan, she was genuinely delighted.
“Daddy, you really keep your promises! I’m going in for surgery soon! The handsome Doctor Qi told me that once I have the surgery, I’ll be healed, and then we can all go out to play together!” Qiao Kawai said, holding onto Qiao Nuo’s hand with one hand and Jin Chengyan’s with the other.

Having Qiao Kawai comfort her made Qiao Nuo feel like she wasn’t being a very good mother.
At that moment, Jin Chengyan placed his hand on Qiao Nuo’s waist and gave it a gentle pat, as if to reassure her.
“Alright, let the little cutie go in now.” He separated Qiao Nuo from Qiao Kawai and placed a hand on her shoulder to keep her from getting too emotional.
Watching Qiao Kawai enter, Qiao Nuo couldn’t hold back any longer and buried her head against Jin Chengyan’s chest.

Jin Chengyan wrapped his arms around Qiao Nuo. She always thought of the worst-case scenario, yet she could still make bright plans for the future.
That was what they called positive pessimism—just like Qiao Nuo.
It had always been this way, and it still was.
“If the surgery is successful, we’ll remarry, okay?” Jin Chengyan’s deep voice reached Qiao Nuo’s ears—soft yet impossible to refuse.
Qiao Nuo fell silent, not answering his question.
“Are you going to make me take this question into the operating room with me?” He released her and leaned down so their faces were just inches apart.
Gazing at her like that, Qiao Nuo managed to hold back her tears.
It seemed she had made up her mind as she said, "I'll wait for you to come out."
Though it wasn't an agreement to his request, to Jin Chengyan, this was already a significant change in Qiao Nuo.
Soon after, Jin Chengyan, accompanied by Qi Ziluo, walked into the operating room.
As Qiao Nuo watched the operating room door slowly close, she truly made some decisions in her heart at that moment.
If both Qiao Kawai and Jin Chengyan were fine, she would forget everything from the past and start anew. Would that be alright?

Inside the operating room, Jin Chengyan changed into a blue surgical gown, waiting to lie on the operating table. But before that, he went to Qiao Kawai's surgical area.
To his surprise, Qiao Kawai was excitedly blinking at him as she could still see him. She had already been given anesthesia, and her body was gradually becoming numb.

Outside the operating room, Qiao Nuo anxiously awaited the results of the surgery.
