Long Huan burst out of the room, his eyes blood-red, brewing a storm of fury. 0

Minjin was startled and stumbled backward, accidentally kicking over a flowerpot in her panic. 0

He reached out and grabbed her by the throat, squeezing tightly as if just a little more pressure would snap her neck. 0

“How can you be so malicious! I thought you were naive and clueless, but it turns out you were just pretending! You are truly heartless!” he shouted through gritted teeth, his bloodshot eyes filled with rage. 0

“It’s not like that, I didn’t mean to. I just—” Minjin shook her head vigorously, tears streaming down her face as she tried to explain, but he interrupted her. 0

“You only wanted to kill the child in her womb! Do you realize that is also my child?” Long Huan yelled sharply. 0

“I didn’t mean to, I really didn’t mean to. Long Huan… I’m sorry.” Minjin froze for a moment upon hearing his words, then burst into tears, shaking her increasingly heavy head as she desperately apologized. 0

Long Huan looked at her pitiful little face, momentarily taken aback. 0

As he had once said, she was like a child. Yet now he was furious enough to consider killing her! 0

“Get out! You are never to step foot in Yongfu Palace again, nor are you allowed to meet with Pu'er!” 0

The moment Long Huan released his grip, he pushed her down to the ground. Minjin lost her balance and fell hard, her palm cut by the shards of the broken flowerpot, blood spilling from her hand. 0

Watching Long Huan's retreating figure, Minjin's frail shoulders began to tremble violently—not from sorrowful tears but rather from a cunning smile that crept across her face despite the tears. 0

She thought to herself that perhaps she still had a chance to win. 0

At least Long Huan just softened his heart, didn't he? 0

Early in the morning, while Long Huan was attending court, Minjin personally brought a nourishing soup to Yongfu Palace. 0

Consort Chang lay weakly by the edge of the bed. Upon seeing Minjin, her face turned pale, and her hollow eyes were filled with fear and resentment. 0

"What do you want? Isn't it enough that you harmed my child? Now you want to come and kill me?" Consort Chang coughed as she pointed at Minjin. 0

"Why are you so agitated just after losing your child? It's not good for your health," Minjin said with a feigned smile as she stepped forward, only to see Consort Chang fearfully retreating into the bed. 0

With trembling white fingers and a sharp voice, Consort Chang shouted, "Get out! I don't want to drink it! Take it away!" 0

Minjin was startled and quickly took a few steps back, exiting the room. 0

However, she suddenly bumped into someone. Minjin stiffly turned around and looked up; the bright yellow satin hurt her eyes, and Long Huan's extremely cold face filled her with panic. 0

"I... I just came to deliver some supplements," Minjin immediately put on an innocent expression, lowering her head slightly as she spoke softly. 0

"Oh? This kind of poison, Consort Chang probably won't be able to endure," Long Huan scoffed coldly. With a mocking tone, he suddenly flicked his sleeve, knocking the soup from her hands onto the ground. The splattered stains smeared her skirt, making her appear somewhat disheveled. 0

"What do you mean by this? Long Huan, don't go too far!" Minjin could no longer hold back her pride. She stepped forward and glared at Long Huan, gritting her teeth as she shouted. 0

"Isn't this your true nature? I have said that you are not to see Pu'er again. Do you think that just because of the Empress Dowager's protection, I won't dare to depose you?" Long Huan's lips were tightly pressed together. 0

Depose her? 0

Minjin's eyes widened in shock as she looked at him. She had always considered the possibility that Long Huan might one day depose her for Consort Chang. Yet, when he uttered those words, her heart ached so much that she couldn't find her voice. 0

"Depose me? Long Huan, do you really hate me this much?" Minjin's eyes were red as she sniffled, trying to hold back tears. 0

"If you want to depose me, then go ahead! Let your beloved Pu'er become this wretched Empress!" 0

Minjin yanked the phoenix hairpin from her hair and threw it forcefully to the ground. She felt as if she had shouted with all her strength, barely managing to keep her legs from giving way as she fled from Yongfu Palace. 0

Hate? 0

Long Huan felt a slight shift in his heart, his mind in turmoil. He never truly hated her; he was just somewhat annoyed with her. 0

His gaze fell on the hairpin lying on the ground, and inexplicably, his heart tightened. 0

She had caused Pu'er to miscarry, and he had indeed hated her for that; he had almost choked the life out of her. But to say he hated her—he couldn't bring himself to do so. 0

He thought about how he had treated Minjin time and again; surely she must hate him, must resent him deeply. 0
