As time passed, Hong Hui gradually grew up. He was clever, lively, and adorable, winning the affection of Long Huan and Minjin.
When Hong Hui reached the age for reading and writing, Long Huan personally selected a knowledgeable master for him.

However, life in the palace was not always smooth sailing.
As Hong Hui grew, some individuals with ulterior motives began to take an interest in him.
In the court, certain ministers expressed concerns that although Hong Hui was a prince, he was born of Minjin, who hailed from Mongolia. They feared that Hong Hui might lean too much towards Mongolian influence, potentially destabilizing the court.
These ministers subtly voiced their worries before Long Huan, suggesting that he consider nurturing other princes instead.
Upon hearing this, Long Huan felt a surge of displeasure.
He understood Minjin's character well and had faith in Hong Hui's abilities. He believed the ministers' concerns were unfounded and merely stirred up trouble.
"My son is my own concern. Hong Hui is intelligent, eager to learn, and possesses good morals; he is the ideal heir in my eyes. There is no need for further discussion on this matter," Long Huan stated firmly in the court.
Despite Long Huan's declaration, the doubts in the ministers' hearts did not fully dissipate.
They began to secretly seek opportunities to undermine Minjin and Hong Hui's influence.
Within the harem, some consorts also harbored dissatisfaction with Hong Hui's status.
Although Minjin maintained a peaceful atmosphere in the harem, there were still those who were unwilling to remain silent.
Among them was Ning Pin, who had long desired to bear a prince herself to attain a higher status.
