Wuthering manor, first floor.
The rehabilitation effect is very remarkable. Amanda looks basically no different from an ordinary person, except for occasional trembling in her lower limbs after walking for a long time.
She has been living in the manor for three months, but she is still staying in a guest room on the first floor.
This is contrary to her original idea.
"Aussie? Hasn't she come back yet?"
It's already past breakfast time, but there's still no sign of Osiris.
In recent days, for some reason, he always comes back very late.
Last night was the same. She waited in the living room for most of the night, and only woke up groggily from the sofa in the morning.
"Yes. The master didn't leave any message either."
Arthur is used to preparing milk for her, just as he was about to pour, the cup was blocked by Amanda's hand.
"Change to a Bordeaux glass, the one that was put into the wine cellar the day before yesterday."
It was a limited edition item that someone else had given to her husband, and it had not been opened yet.
Arthur is not very willing in his heart, but he is an experienced butler. Even if he is unwilling, he will not show it on his face. He can see that Amanda is very anxious right now. "Madam, drinking in the early morning is not good for your health," he hesitated and reminded her.
Amanda's complexion softened a bit, apparently the lady's words had improved her mood. "Go get the wine," she ordered, but her tone was clearly not as harsh as before. Arthur obeyed, and when he left, the others were not so lucky.
The steak on the plate is medium rare, as requested by Amanda, who usually eats it this way. But today, she suddenly changed her mind. "Cut the steak," she directed the maid next to her, asking her to cut the steak into equal portions.
She just stared, making the maid extremely nervous. With a slip of her hand, a small piece of steak was chopped into several pieces. "You're a stupid fool who can't do anything right!" Arthur came back with Red wine and saw Amanda angrily kicking the maid.
The shattered plates on the ground, along with the sauce, will expose everything that has happened. But no one dares to say anything. This is just a typical morning at Wuthering manor, without the master of the house.
Osiris When I returned home exhausted, the sun was setting in the west, leaving only the orange afterglow to illuminate the uneven ground. As soon as I entered the door, I saw Amanda waiting for me with a demure look, and Arthur standing by with a respectful demeanor, just like any other day.
His phone was still in communication, he tilted his head and changed into slippers, and the briefcase was naturally handed to Arthur and taken upstairs.
"Yeah, I know, just follow the instructions in the project book. In half an hour, have they prepare for the video conference. I have some requirements that need to be reorganized by you."
When he was working, his expression was serious. Even though he was already at home, his mind was still at the company.
During a lull in the conversation, he noticed that Amanda was still there and habitually glanced at her legs. "How are you feeling today?" he asked, habitually rolling up his sleeves as he spoke. "I'm okay," Amanda responded with a smile.
She was about to say something else when Osiris received another phone call, and by now he had already stepped onto the stairs.
"You go ahead and have your meal, don't mind me."
His voice disappeared at the end of the staircase along with his footsteps.
Amanda stood still, her fingers curled in her palm, and she pinched herself hard.
"Go and bring the dinner," she said, her voice carrying a hint of suppressed hysteria. The maid following behind her didn't hear clearly, and her bewildered expression instantly made Amanda see red.
If Osiris hadn't come back... She glared viciously at the maid.
"...go get dinner, don't make me repeat it for the third time."
Osiris is very busy.
He was so busy that having two laptop computers open on his desk was not enough to handle the content needed for the meeting. Since coming back from the horse racing track, he has devoted all his time to work, keeping his mind busy. After seeing Elena's attitude towards Prince William with his own eyes, he was extremely irritated, unable to even explain the reason to himself.
Even the appearance of Amanda couldn't ease the restlessness and frustration in his heart.
This isn't right.
Osiris was very aware of how rational he was, and a situation like this had never happened to him in his entire life.
So he must find his own state.
So he kept himself so busy that he didn't even have time to drink water. He arranged the most important tasks for both the upper and lower levels of the company, but the feeling of annoyance and the bitter taste between his lips and teeth did not ease at all.
It seems to have gotten even worse.
Amanda When she knocked on the door, he was staring blankly at the computer screen.
"Come in," he said mechanically, without paying attention to who was coming in.
The crisp and pleasant sound of porcelain clashing revealed its precious value.
Amanda carried the tray, her wrist aching. The bright light from the computer screen emitted from Osiris's brown eyes. Normally, Amanda wouldn't disturb him, but things were not right after returning from the horse racing track.
"Aussie, you've been so busy lately. You hardly come home anymore."
Amanda spoke with a hint of grievance, her eyes downcast, as if tears were about to fall any second.
This appearance of hers has always been her winning move.
But today, it failed.
