Osiris never took his eyes off the screen, "Hmm, the company has a tight project schedule." It sounded like an explanation, but also like a brush-off. Amanda really wanted to ask if he was avoiding her because of Elena and that man that day, but she didn't dare to ask.
She was afraid of getting a definite answer.
"Oh, it's okay, I understand," Amanda tried to make her voice sound more energetic.
But obviously, she was not successful.
In the study, the only sound that could be heard was Osiris occasionally tapping on the keyboard.
Amanda looked down at the tray for a moment, then spoke again.
"Let's eat something first. You've been working so hard, don't wear yourself out." She pushed the tray onto the table and then casually picked up a few pieces of paper blocking the tray, intending to throw them in the trash. She had just grabbed one end of the paper when Osiris quickly grabbed the other end.
Aussie glanced at her, then quickly lowered his eyelids, "I'll do it myself. These are all company things that I'll need later."
"Sorry, I thought it was scrap paper."
Amanda responded softly, but her lowered eyes were filled with embarrassed anger.
"Let's put it aside for now. I'll eat after the meeting."
Osiris didn't intend to say much, he typed a few times, then answered a phone call.
Clearly, at this point, Amanda was no longer suitable to stay here, but she didn't want to leave, and didn't plan to.
She looked at Osiris's back as he turned to make a phone call, then found a comfortable spot on the sofa to sit down. She had something to say, but the wait was too long. The next day, Amanda woke up on the sofa again.
Just compared to yesterday, there's an extra blanket around the waist. It's covered by Osiris. But this doesn't satisfy Amanda.
Shouldn't Osiris be carrying her back to bed instead of leaving her here? Glancing at the time, she hurriedly walked out of the study, her legs trembling from the haste. "Where's Aussie?!"
She had just descended the stairs when she hurriedly approached the butler and asked, "Is the master having his meal?" After receiving a compliant response from Arthur, she inquired again, "Does the madam still want her steak cooked medium rare today? Or would she like something else instead?" He remembered that yesterday, Amanda had thrown a fit over the steak.
"Steakhouse." After Amanda's indifferent response, she eagerly walked towards the living room. At this time, Osiris had almost finished eating and was leisurely wiping the corners of his mouth. Seeing Amanda approaching, he smiled and asked, "Did you sleep well last night?"
"Mmm," Amanda smiled sweetly.
Then she heard Osiris apologize, "I saw you were sleeping soundly, so I didn't want to disturb you by taking you back to your room."
"Arthur should be preparing your portion. I'm heading to the office first. If you need anything, just ask Arthur to prepare it."
Osiris stood up as he spoke, but Amanda didn't rush downstairs just for this. She quickly grabbed Osiris's hand.
"Isn't it too early? Look, you still have half of your plate left to eat."
Amanda wasn't willing to let Osiris go just like that, she had been waiting for two nights in a row.
"Eating so little won't provide enough nutrition."
Osiris reluctantly sat back down, even though he didn't feel like eating. He could tell that Amanda had something to say.
But he didn't ask, and Amanda really didn't know how to say it.
Just then, Arthur directed the servant to clean the guest rooms.
Amanda smiled and spoke, " Aussie, I've been out of the hospital for a while now, and I'm recovering quite well." She paused for a moment, observing Osiris's reaction. "I know you didn't want me to go upstairs before for my own good, but I don't need to worry about that now."
"We are lovers, I want to live with you," she said, affectionately resting her head on Osiris's shoulder. She wanted to move upstairs to live. Osiris was stunned by her words, he didn't know why, but his first reaction to Amanda's words was resistance.
Ke Mingming, Amanda is the woman he loves the most, isn't she?
"Amanda, I also want to live with you."
After a moment of silence, Osiris smiled faintly and said, "It's just that the bedroom upstairs is the former marital bedroom of Elena and me."
The words "marriage room" made Amanda's body stiffen. But she still put on a look as if she didn't care. "I know it's your past. I just want to be with you, always together."
Osiris affectionately rubbed her head and said, "Actually, two people in love don't necessarily have to live in the same room."
"Moreover, it's not appropriate for me to give you my former marital home. I plan to have the room redecorated during this time. If you want to stay upstairs, I'll have Arthur arrange a guest room with better lighting for you."
Amanda never expected Osiris to refuse, which was completely different from what she had in mind.
