The group moved cautiously forward, each step filled with vigilance. Lin Yuxin lowered her voice and said, "Everyone must be careful; the mysterious man will definitely not let us go easily."
Lin Yuhan nodded, determination evident in her eyes. "We must stay alert at all times and not fall into his traps again."
Xiao Chen gripped his gun tightly, his eyes scanning the surroundings. "I wonder what this mysterious man’s purpose is and why he keeps chasing us."
The stranger frowned and replied, "I’m not sure, but I feel he must have some dark secret."
Lin Yi appeared somewhat impatient. "Whatever his secret is, we just need to find a way to defeat him."
As they continued moving, a faint ticking sound suddenly caught their attention. The group immediately halted, tension rising as they looked around.
"That sound... could it be another trap?" Lin Yuxin said anxiously.
Lin Yuhan listened carefully before shaking her head. "I’m not sure, but we can't let our guard down."
They began searching for the source of the sound and soon discovered a strange device tucked away in the corner of the passage.
"What is this?" Xiao Chen asked, puzzled.
The stranger stepped forward to examine the device closely. "It looks like a timed bomb."
The group’s expressions changed dramatically. "What do we do? Should we disarm it quickly?" Lin Yi urged.
Lin Yuhan thought calmly for a moment. "Let’s not act rashly; we don’t know the bomb's structure or how to disarm it. Acting recklessly could lead to worse consequences."
They started discussing strategies, but time was running out; the bomb could explode at any moment. Just as they were feeling stuck, Lin Yuxin suddenly had an idea.
"I remember seeing some information about bombs in the data room earlier. Maybe we can find a way to disarm this bomb there."
The others agreed that it was a feasible plan and decided to return to the data room immediately. They carefully avoided potential traps as they hurried towards it.
However, upon arriving at the data room, they found the door locked.
"What do we do now? We don’t have a key," Xiao Chen said anxiously.
Lin Yuhan looked around and spotted a ventilation duct. "We can get in through the vent."
Everyone quickly sprang into action and entered the data room through the vent. They began searching for information on bombs and, after some effort, finally found useful details.
Lin Yuxin read through the materials carefully and said, "I found a method to disarm this bomb, but we need some tools."
The group searched for tools in the data room and fortunately found what they needed quickly. Following the instructions from the materials, Lin Yuxin began to carefully disarm the bomb.
Time ticked by agonizingly slowly as everyone watched Lin Yuxin's actions with bated breath. Finally, she successfully disarmed the bomb, and everyone let out a sigh of relief.
However, before they had a chance to celebrate, a series of footsteps echoed from the other end of the corridor.
"This is bad, the mysterious man's henchmen are coming after us again," Xiao Chen said nervously.
Everyone immediately grabbed their weapons, preparing to face the new challenge. They knew that their confrontation with the mysterious man was far from over.
They quickly backed against the wall, anxiously watching the other end of the corridor. Lin Yuxin tightened her grip on her weapon, her voice trembling slightly as she said, "I wonder how many of them there are this time."
Lin Yuhan responded in a low voice, "No matter how many there are, we can't back down."
Xiao Chen tightened his grip on his gun, his gaze resolute as he said, "Right, we must hold our ground."
The stranger looked worried and said, "I hope we can once again turn danger into safety."
Lin Yi gritted his teeth and declared, "Hmph, we'll take down as many as they send."
The footsteps grew louder, and everyone's hearts raced with tension. Soon, a group of the mysterious man's henchmen appeared in their line of sight.
"Open fire!" Lin Yuhan commanded, and everyone immediately began shooting at the enemy.
A fierce gunfight erupted once more, bullets whizzing through the corridor. The henchmen retaliated wildly, and both sides found themselves locked in a stalemate.
"Watch out!" Lin Yuxin shouted as she suddenly tackled Lin Yuhan to the ground just as a bullet flew overhead.
Lin Yuhan glanced gratefully at Lin Yuxin and said, "Thanks, but you need to be careful too."
Xiao Chen and Lin Yi worked seamlessly together, constantly looking for weaknesses in the enemy's defense to exploit. The stranger also tried his best to shoot from the side; although his aim wasn't great, he still managed to cause some trouble for the enemy.
The battle raged on for a while, with casualties on both sides mounting. Lin Yuxin watched in anger and helplessness as her companions were injured one by one.
"This isn't going to work; we need a new strategy," Lin Yuxin said.
Lin Yuhan furrowed his brow in thought for a moment before suggesting, "We can fight while retreating and find a more advantageous position to defend."
Everyone agreed with Lin Yuhan's suggestion and began shooting while backing away. During their retreat, they discovered a narrow passageway with some obstacles that could serve as cover.
"This looks good; we can defend here," Xiao Chen said.
They quickly entered the passageway and used the obstacles for protection. The mysterious man's henchmen pursued relentlessly, launching continuous attacks against them.
"Everyone hold on; their numbers are dwindling," Lin Yuhan encouraged them.
However, just when they thought they could stabilize the situation temporarily, they suddenly heard a strange sound. Everyone immediately became alert, unsure of what new danger might be approaching.
They strained their ears to discern the peculiar noise. Lin Yuxin frowned tightly and whispered, "That sound seems unusual; it couldn't be another trap, could it?"
Lin Yuhan shook his head slightly, his tone serious as he said, "It's still uncertain, but we must be prepared for anything."
Xiao Chen gripped his gun tightly, his eyes fixed on the passage ahead. "No matter what it is, we can't let our guard down."
The stranger nervously swallowed and said, "I hope it's not something too terrifying."
Lin Yi impatiently replied, "What are we afraid of? If it comes, we'll take it down."
The strange sound grew louder, and everyone's hearts raced. Suddenly, a massive creature charged around the corner of the passage.
"What the hell is that?" Lin Yuxin exclaimed.
The creature was enormous, covered in hard scales, with eyes glowing red. It opened its gaping maw and roared at them.
Lin Yuhan's face changed dramatically. "Everyone be careful; this monster looks formidable."
Xiao Chen raised his gun and unleashed a barrage of bullets at the creature, but the bullets ricocheted off its body as if striking steel.
"Damn it, this monster's skin is too thick," Xiao Chen cursed.
The stranger stumbled backward in fear. "What do we do? We can't possibly fight this monster!"
Lin Yi gritted his teeth and said, "Even if we can't win, we have to fight back. We can't just sit here and wait for death."
The monster charged toward them, and they quickly dodged out of the way. In the chaos, Lin Yuxin accidentally fell to the ground as the creature lunged at her.
"Yuxin!" Lin Yuhan shouted as he rushed forward to save her.
Just as the monster was about to pounce on Lin Yuxin, Xiao Chen suddenly threw a grenade. The explosion momentarily halted the creature's attack.
Taking advantage of the distraction, Lin Yuhan pulled Lin Yuxin up and said, "Run!"
They all began to flee in different directions as the monster pursued them relentlessly. They darted through the passageway, desperately searching for a safe place.
"There's a room over there! Quick, get inside!" Lin Yi pointed to a nearby room.
They rushed into the room and slammed the door shut. The monster crashed against the door outside, creating a deafening noise.
"What are we going to do? That monster won't give up easily," Lin Yuxin said anxiously.
After thinking for a moment, Lin Yuhan replied, "We need to find a way to deal with this monster; otherwise, it’s only a matter of time before it catches us."
They began searching the room for anything that could help them against the creature, but aside from some clutter, there was nothing useful.
Just when despair began to set in, Lin Yuhan suddenly spotted a ventilation duct.
"We can escape through the ventilation shaft," Lin Yuhan said.
The group immediately sprang into action, climbing up to the vent. The monster continued to pound against the door, but they had successfully evaded danger.
Unbeknownst to them, a mysterious man was watching their every move from the shadows, waiting for the next opportunity.
