The next day, the sun shone brightly, and the weather was pleasant.
They had agreed to hold an early meeting together, but early in the morning, someone unexpectedly showed up at her door.
Su Mingxian thought it was Wang Daguo and the others, but when she opened the door, she was greeted by a middle-aged man with a large belly, greasy skin, big ears, and a thick neck. He wore a large gold chain around his chest and carried a briefcase. Standing in the doorway, he blocked it completely.
His eyes lit up upon seeing her. "You must be Su Mingxian?"
"Yes? Do you need something?" Su Mingxian looked at him in surprise.
The man laughed heartily. "That's right! I heard your Liangpi is quite good? Come on, make me a serving to try. If it tastes good, we can negotiate a price."
With that, he pushed the door open and stepped into the yard, looking around haphazardly.
Su Mingxian was caught off guard and nearly pushed against the wall, her expression darkening immediately.
Before she could ask him to leave, a woman's voice came from the entrance.
"Oh dear, daughter-in-law, are you alright? Let me introduce you. This is Boss Ma from Shi Wei Tian; he does big business. You should quickly make him some Liangpi. If he likes it, you’ll surely benefit."
Zheng Xiuzhi followed closely behind with a smile on her face, as if she were doing her a favor.
This weasel paying respects to the chicken couldn’t have good intentions; Su Mingxian immediately sensed that this was not going to end well.
She directly grabbed the other person, demanding, "What do you mean? Speak clearly. Who is this Boss Ma? I don’t know him and I don’t want to know him. Why are you bringing someone like that to my house? Did you even ask for my opinion?"
Bringing such a person to her home—was this a relative? More like an enemy.
Zheng Xiuzhi felt frustrated as she saw Su Mingxian's fierce expression.
She had only mentioned it casually to the director of the cafeteria at her workplace, hoping to make a little profit, but who would have thought that the director would send his nephew to her door?
But now that the person was here, what could she do? She couldn’t just take him home herself. Besides, Su Mingxian was just a country bumpkin; why was he making such a fuss?
Just as the two were in a standoff, they suddenly heard a voice from the yard exclaiming, "Mmm, delicious! This Liangpi really tastes great; I want another bowl."
Su Mingxian turned around and saw Boss Ma finishing off the Liangpi he had just made, leaving not even a drop of soup behind.
What kind of person was this? Did he have no manners at all?
With a cold expression, she walked over and got straight to the point. "So you're Boss Ma? Are you here to place an order? How much do you intend to order?"
"Place an order? What order?" Boss Ma looked confused. "I came to buy the recipe."
His attitude was so arrogant that Su Mingxian felt utterly baffled. "Buy the recipe? Who told you I was selling recipes?"
Upon hearing this, Boss Ma's expression changed dramatically. He slammed his hand on the table with a loud bang, causing it to shake. "What do you mean? If you're not selling recipes, why did you let me come here? Are you messing with me?"
The voice of Boss Ma was particularly loud, and his fierce expression frightened Yang Yang into tears.
Su Mingxian's face immediately darkened. "Play with you? Who are you to say that? Did I invite you here? The door is on the right; feel free to leave."
"You—" Boss Ma's face turned red with anger.
Seeing this, Zheng Xiuzhi quickly interjected, "Oh dear, Daughter-in-law, let's talk this over. Boss Ma genuinely wants to buy; he doesn't lack your money."
Su Mingxian was also furious and shot back, "I don't lack money either. If I say I'm not selling, then I'm not selling. When did it become your place to decide what I do with my own recipe? Who do you think you are? Take your people and get out of here."
