Orly's boyfriend, Elena, has met him every time.
It's like an unspoken agreement between them as sisters, that they must openly introduce their liked ones to each other, without hiding or holding back.
But this time, Orly didn't tell herself in advance, saying that she didn't care at all, which is definitely fake.
Elena held her phone all afternoon, feeling both curious and excited. She was curious about the man who had caught Orly's eye, but excited that her good girlfriends were finally letting go of their self-doubt. As the clock slowly ticked away, Elena almost counted the seconds, eagerly awaiting the arrival of seven o'clock.
The moment the doorbell downstairs rang, she bounced out of bed and ran towards the foyer. The slippers made a tapping sound as she hurried down the stairs. The man sitting in the living room turned his head to look at the stairs, his cold gray eyes showing a moment of warmth, but quickly he turned away, seeming to be sulking.
Why is Gert here?!
Elena stepped down with her right foot and then straightened up a step. Immediately, she regained her composure. After all, she was not a criminal, so why should she be afraid of him!
With this in mind, she quickened her pace down the stairs.
From outside, the laughter of Orly could already be heard. Elena descended the stairs, turned a corner at one end of the sofa, and headed straight for the door, clearly not wanting to deal with Gert.
Gert was also very angry, but in the end, it was his beloved sister, so he could only stare blankly. Then, he saw another man behind Orly.
"Oh, Erin, I miss you so much."
As soon as Orly entered, Elena threw herself into his arms. She squinted and hugged her best friend, as if they had been apart for at least three or four months, even though it had only been a few days.
Her exaggerated remarks, Elena was already used to. Exiting from Orly's embrace, she couldn't hide her excitement, "Won't you introduce me to your boyfriend?"
As she spoke, she looked back, but at a glance, her smile froze on her face.
And the man who was about to enter the door also froze.
"How come it's you?"
"Elena!"
Almost in unison.
Elena pulled Orly over and stood by her side, protecting her, while giving a sharp look at Jaden blocking the door.
"I won't allow you to deceive my friend," she said.
Her protective gesture left Orly somewhat puzzled.
She looked at Elena in confusion, then turned to her new boyfriend. "Do you two know each other?"
It's not just a casual acquaintance.
Jaden is now in a state of extreme shock, not fully recovered yet.
"Don't you know? He is a friend of my ex-husband."
Elena has already started to get a headache.
Why does it have to be Jaden Miller of all people.
"How is that possible?" Orly exclaimed in disbelief, "I can't believe it, Jaden, you're really friends with That guy? Why would that be!" Orly was feeling very conflicted at the moment. She had only wanted to share her joy with her best friend, but it was clear that there was no joy at all, and instead she was the one who was shocked.
How coincidental, it's shocking!
"Orly."
Gert's voice came from behind, he looked down on the two girls with great momentum and looked at Jaden.
Yes, he is taller than Jaden by a bit, and at first glance, he looks like a solid wall, unshakeable.
"Is this your boyfriend?"
Gert's deep voice used to be Orly's obsession, but now it feels like it's stepping on her heart, making it hard for her to breathe.
"I, I don't know."
Orly looked at Jaden in confusion, not understanding how the introduction could have turned into this.
"You should know," Gert said coldly, "the Snowd Family only welcomes those approved by our family."
And Jaden Miller is obviously not on the list.
Jaden opened his mouth, wanting to explain, but seeing the obvious distrust from Elena and the tall man in front of him, all the words he wanted to say got stuck in his throat.
"Hey, why are you all standing at the door? Come in, the chef is ready."
Maxim Shishi came out of the guest room and saw they a group of people blocking the door, and shouted. Whether he meant it or not, there was finally a little change in the deadlock at the door. Orly looked dejected, and she seemed to feel that she shouldn't have brought Jaden here. She looked up at Elena and pursed her lips.
"I don't know—"
Elena suddenly took a step back and interrupted her, "Let's go inside first."
Orly looked at her in surprise.
But Elena turned her head and took two steps inside, "Don't let the chef's hard work go to waste." She relaxed her grip, and Gert didn't stop her anymore. However, after Jaden entered the room trembling, he walked at the back and gave him a terrifying threat with a fierce look in his eyes. It's no wonder he's a special guest chef, the variety of dishes is full of fragrance, making people want to dig in just by smelling the aroma.
Jaden Just as he sat down, he stared as a man in a chef's uniform walked out of the kitchen. He had curly hair, freckles, and was not very tall. The wrinkles at the corners of his eyes made him look four or five years older than his actual age. He is a regular on television, a resident judge in the competition of famous chefs, Mr. AIDS.
