Xu Shen felt a twinge of regret for having said those words earlier. Although his mother hadn’t scolded him too harshly, he still felt uncomfortable about what he had expressed. It made him realize just how difficult it was for her to be a mother. 0

Now that he had achieved such success in his career, he couldn’t help but admire her even more. From now on, he promised himself that he would consider her feelings before speaking. He understood the weight of her role and how challenging it had been for her since the moment he began to learn to talk and walk. 0

While she rarely spoke about her struggles, he had faint memories from his childhood—vague recollections that were not entirely clear. Hearing her speak seriously about those times made him feel uneasy. 0

He quickly changed his tone, saying, “I know how hard it was for you back then. I realize that my words might have hurt you, and I promise I won’t say such things again. From now on, I will always think of your feelings first. Since you called me today to ask for help, please let me know what you need arranged. Whenever you need me, just ask; I won’t refuse anything I can do for you because you are my mother.” 0

He continued, “Helping you won’t be a burden to me. If I can assist you, it will benefit our family as well. You’ve helped me so much when times were tough; I have no way to repay you except by supporting you now. If there’s anything you need from me, just let me know.” 0

Upon hearing his words, his mother’s tone softened slightly; she was no longer as stern as before. 0

“Well, if that’s how you feel, then I might not hold back in the future. There are indeed many things I need your help with, especially since you’re my son and quite capable,” she replied with a hint of warmth. “If it were anyone else asking for help, I might have to spend a lot of money to get things done, but with you, it’s different. You should be aware that your contributions are not just for me but for our family as a whole.” 0

She continued, “I believe you won’t refuse this request because you’re smart enough to see that letting our family’s benefits slip into someone else’s hands is simply unacceptable.” 0
