Since the conclusion of the "Eleventh Cultural Performance," Yang Qianfan had rarely attended classes at school, and he had hardly ever been late. Of course, given his nature, the only reason for coming to school was to gather information about Li Lingfei at all costs, hoping to find the right moment to get close to her. 0

The weather was quite pleasant; the grass was lush and green, and the sun lazily lounged on a fluffy cloud, yawning as it looked down on the world below. After finishing lunch, Yang Qianfan strolled leisurely around the school grounds to pass the time. Just a few steps outside the school gate, he felt a craving for cigarettes. Instinctively, he reached into his pocket for a pack, only to find it nearly empty except for some crumbled yellowish tobacco. Unable to suppress a curse, he crumpled the empty pack and tossed it aside in disappointment. He had no choice but to walk further away from the school to buy cigarettes. On his way back, he unexpectedly stumbled upon a group of Tough Girls surrounding a poor soul, demanding protection money. 0

Seeing the commotion, Yang Qianfan couldn't help but feel amused. Usually, he was the one causing trouble while others watched; today, however, he finally had the chance to be an observer and enjoy the spectacle. Standing at a distance, he thought with glee, "I wonder who this unfortunate soul is that has crossed paths with them. It seems this poor wretch is in for a rough time." He chuckled to himself while shaking his head in sympathy for the victim. 0

At that moment, the unfortunate person seemed to suddenly realize what was happening and shouted defiantly, "I can't give you my phone!" Immediately, the Tough Girls rushed in without hesitation, pulling and tugging at her relentlessly. The air filled with shouts of insults and scuffles, mixed with cheers from onlookers who were enjoying the scene. Yang Qianfan found himself even more entertained and silently praised the Tough Girls: "Not bad! They really are kindred spirits; when faced with resistance, they should charge in without mercy." His interest piqued, he moved closer for a better view. 0

As he approached the Tough Girls, he felt as if he'd been struck by lightning. He couldn't help but exclaim inwardly, "No way! How could this unfortunate soul be her?!" 0

The person being bullied was none other than Li Lingfei—the one he had been thinking about day and night. 0

At that moment, after a fierce struggle with the Tough Girls, Li Lingfei looked quite disheveled; her hair was messy from being pulled around, her clothes were askew, and there were faint visible bruises on her hands and face. 0

Seeing Li Lingfei like this made Yang Qianfan's heart ache. Just moments ago he had been reveling in someone else's misfortune; now anger surged within him. After a moment of fuming, he thought to himself: "Historically, beautiful women love heroes. If I step in now as a knight in shining armor and save her, she will surely be grateful beyond measure." With that thought in mind, he steeled himself and stepped forward to defend Li Lingfei. 0

"What are you all doing here? Aren't you afraid of being caught by plainclothes officers patrolling around the school?" Yang Qianfan squinted his eyes and casually addressed the Tough Girls. 0

The Tough Girls turned around in unison upon hearing someone speak behind them. They were curious who dared to stir trouble on their turf. 0

"Who do you think you are? You’ve got some nerve meddling in our business!" shouted one of the Tough Girls dressed in green, her voice loud enough to draw attention. 0

Seeing her arrogant demeanor made Yang Qianfan chuckle inwardly. He thought to himself: "You don't even know who I am out here causing trouble; what makes you think you're tough? You're just a bunch of clueless girls." 0

“Don’t ask who I am; just let this classmate go first.” Yang Qianfan smiled as he glanced at the disheveled Li Lingfei beside him, speaking slowly to the group of Tough Girls. 0

“You think you can just let her go? Who do you think you are?” The Green-Clad Girl widened her eyes and shouted arrogantly at Yang Qianfan. 0

“I’m nobody special, just an ordinary person who enjoys standing up for others and doing what’s right,” Yang Qianfan replied with a smile, casually brushing his wind-tousled hair back. He then curiously asked them, “But I find it strange that this territory belongs to you, yet I’ve never seen you around before. Who do you hang out with? Your big brother—maybe I have some connections with him.” 0

Upon hearing this, the Tough Girls felt a jolt of apprehension. They suspected that this person before them had some background; otherwise, he wouldn’t be saying such things. In fact, this was their first time laundering money outside, but they hadn’t expected their debut to be so unfortunate, running into a skilled opponent. Their motive for laundering money wasn’t due to a genuine need for cash; they merely wanted to find someone to bully, to feel respected, and to prove their existence. Although they had been bullied by others in the past, they believed they could easily intimidate a few honest students who attended classes regularly. However, when Yang Qianfan asked his question, they felt exposed like dumplings bursting open in boiling water, their arrogance evaporating in an instant. 0

Nevertheless, maintaining face was still important. The Green-Clad Girl straightened her back defiantly and coldly replied to Yang Qianfan, “You think you’re worthy of having connections with our big brother? Just so you know, our big brother is Biao Ge around here—bet you’ve never heard of him.” She raised her eyebrows in a feigned calmness, though inside she was already terrified. She had thought that confronting Yang Qianfan would intimidate him, but she never imagined she would run into the real Yang Qianfan today. 0
