Chapter 10: She Is No Longer Here
Terrified screams echoed everywhere.
Everything around was shaking violently, and heavy objects kept crashing down, resulting in immediate casualties.
Everyone was frantically trying to escape; the elevators were out of order, and the hallways were packed with people.
“Qin Xi! Qin Xi!” Mu Jinhang ran through the hospital corridor.
He no longer cared whether Qin Xi was having an affair with Ji Li, nor did he think about revenge or remember the words he once said wishing for her death.
In this moment of danger, all Mu Jinhang wanted was to find Qin Xi, who lay in the operating room, and get her out of the hospital as quickly as possible.
The entire building shook violently; Mu Jinhang stumbled several times but got back on his feet and continued running toward the operating room upstairs.
“Mr. Mu, it’s too dangerous! You can’t go up there!” The bodyguards anxiously blocked his path.
“Get out of my way!” Mu Jinhang kicked one of the bodyguards aside.
The other two bodyguards exchanged glances and rushed to grab his arms. “Mr. Mu, we apologize. The old man instructed us that you are the only heir of the Mu Family and absolutely cannot be harmed!”
One of the bodyguards raised his hand and struck down hard on the back of Mu Jinhang's neck.

Three hours later.
The sky was overcast, and after the earthquake, it began to drizzle. Rescue workers braved the rain, tirelessly searching for those buried beneath the rubble.
A convoy of donated rescue supplies slowly drove into the earthquake disaster zone.
Mu Jinhang personally escorted this batch of supplies to the vicinity of the hospital, his mind focused on one thought: finding Qin Xi!
When the earthquake struck, he had been knocked unconscious by his bodyguards and taken back to the Mu Family Old Residence. The old man locked him up there for three days, only allowing him to leave once the aftershocks in the disaster area had subsided.
During those three days, Mu Jinhang remained sleepless and restless. The usually calm man found himself engulfed in anxiety, repeatedly dialing Qin Xi's phone, but it remained unreachable. The Search and Rescue Team responsible for the hospital had also failed to locate her!
He refused to believe that anything had happened to Qin Xi!
He would personally find her!
The rain fell heavier and heavier.
Soaked to the bone, Mu Jinhang knelt in the rubble, digging through the debris. The icy rain pelted his face, yet he remained unmoved, his dark eyes fixed intently on the ground as if waiting for Qin Xi to call out his name from beneath it.

He seemed entranced by thoughts of this woman, his eyes bloodshot from exhaustion, leaving only dark pupils that shone with an unusual brightness.
“Mu Jinhang, please don’t do this. It hurts to see you like this,” Qin Zhiruo said as she held an umbrella and approached him. She slowly crouched down beside him, her beautiful eyes glistening with tears. “Seven hours after the earthquake is the golden rescue period. Sister… she might really be gone.”
“Get lost!” Mu Jinhang glared at her fiercely, his blood-red eyes making him look like a ferocious beast.
“I-I…” Qin Zhiruo was so frightened that she fell back onto the ground, dropping her umbrella.
She had never seen such a terrifying side of Mu Jinhang; how could he have transformed into this because of his sister?
“If you dare say anything about Qin Xi not being here again, don’t blame me for being rude!” Mu Jinhang’s eyes held no pity for her, as if all the tenderness from before had turned to bubbles that burst at a single poke.
Qin Zhiruo's heart raced as she stumbled and ran away.
Not far away, the Search and Rescue Team's excited shouts rang out: "There are still signs of life here!"
Mu Jinhang immediately rushed over.
His heart had never pounded so urgently!
Time passed second by second as the rubble was slowly cleared away, and someone was pulled out.
Mu Jinhang dashed forward but saw a stranger's face.
All his hope and patience gradually drained away in disappointment.
When the last body was brought out from the ruins, Mu Jinhang suddenly grabbed a Rescue Worker by the collar, roaring like a trapped beast, "There must be someone else! Is there anyone still down there? Is there still one person who hasn't been rescued?"
The Rescue Worker shook his head. "There is no one left."
