Chapter 15: Taken Away by Mr. Mu
In the crowd, whispers and pointed fingers filled the air.
"What’s going on?" Mu Jinhang strode over, his cold and handsome face shrouded in a thin layer of frost, making him appear quite unapproachable.
Qin Zhiruo immediately threw herself into his arms, sobbing pitifully, "Mu Jinhang, my sister... she hit me. I don’t understand why she would treat me like this. For the past five years, I’ve worried about her day and night, yet I never expected my sister to be so ungrateful. It hurts so much."

Qin Xi was equally astonished; she hadn’t expected Mu Jinhang, who had once doted on Qin Zhiruo so much, to not come to her aid.
She lifted her gaze slightly and unexpectedly locked eyes with Mu Jinhang's deep, ink-like pupils, as if she were a captive in his gaze.
Her heart began to race uncontrollably.
No, she no longer loved Mu Jinhang; she would absolutely not let him affect her again!
Ji Li noticed her emotional turmoil and immediately whispered, "Xi, let’s go over there."
"Okay." Qin Xi linked her arm with Ji Li's and walked away.
Behind her, that burning gaze followed her relentlessly, making her feel exposed and flustered.
Fortunately, it wasn’t long before the auction began, allowing Qin Xi to gradually calm herself down.
At this auction, she was donating a pair of couple's diamond rings—works she had never revealed before and were unique in the world; even Ji Li was unaware of them.
When the Auctioneer presented the exquisite pair of diamond rings, it instantly captured the attention of everyone in the room!
What made them unique was the two Tearian Stones set in the center of a delicate, sparkling Pink Pear-Shaped Diamond, resembling a heart and symbolizing the most beautiful and dreamy love.
The auctioneer smiled and said, "This pair of rings is the work of renowned French designer Susie, with a starting bid of two million. Bidding begins now!"
Susie was Qin Xi's French name, and as soon as the auctioneer opened his mouth, many attendees eagerly began to place their bids, quickly raising the price to three million.
The bid of three million came from Ji Li, who desperately wanted to win this pair of rings; perhaps he could propose to Qin Xi with them.
"Three million once, three million twice..."
"Five million." Mu Jinhang suddenly spoke up, raising the price to an astonishing level.
The crowd gasped!
While the design of the rings was indeed impressive, the diamonds set within them were far from justifying a five-million price tag; it seemed grossly overestimated.
Ji Li frowned. "Five million five hundred thousand."
"Eight million." Mu Jinhang's voice was steady and unwavering, exuding an air of determination.
Ji Li was about to respond when Qin Xi advised him, "Even for charity, there's no need to go that far. Why bother arguing with a madman?"
"Alright, I'll listen to you." Ji Li replied gently; he wasn't ready to clash with Mu Jinhang domestically just yet.
In the end, Mu Jinhang won the bid for the diamond ring designed by Qin Xi at eight million.
Qin Xi couldn't tell if he was deliberately opposing Ji Li or if he genuinely liked the diamond ring; she hoped it was the latter.
After the auction ended, the Auctioneer smiled at Qin Xi, saying, "Sister Susie, the diamond ring you donated has been sold. Please come over here to sign the agreement with our charity organization."
"Sure," Qin Xi replied without suspicion.
Ji Li wanted to accompany her but was stopped by the Auctioneer. "Sorry, the agreement is confidential. Please stay back."
Ji Li frowned slightly but waited at the door for Qin Xi.
However, half an hour passed, and he still hadn't seen Qin Xi come down.
A sense of unease crept over Ji Li. He kicked open the door, only to find the Auctioneer and a few staff members inside.
"Where is Susie?" he demanded, grabbing the Auctioneer by the collar.
"She was taken away by Mr. Mu..."
