Chapter 0: The Kidnapping
“Mommy, why didn’t you come back last night? Where are you? I miss you so much.” The phone screen displayed a handsome, adorable face. Ning Bao pouted, his expression filled with grievance, unable to understand why his mother wasn’t there to keep him company.
Qin Xi couldn’t help but shed tears, yet she smiled as she replied, “I’m sorry, Mommy didn’t mean to stay away. I’ve been busy lately and can’t be with you for now. You need to listen to Daddy, and I’ll be back soon.”
Ji Li held Ning Bao tightly and asked with concern, “Xi, are you okay? What happened to your forehead? Did he hit you?”
The last part of his question was filled with agitation, as if he wanted to leap through the phone to confront Mu Jinhang.
“No, no! I hurt myself by accident,” Qin Xi quickly clarified. “It’s fine, really. I’m okay.”
“You have ten seconds left,” Mu Jinhang coldly reminded her, barely suppressing his anger and jealousy to avoid throwing the phone away.
Qin Xi hurriedly addressed Ji Li and Ning Bao, “I have a few more things to take care of. Ning Bao, Mommy loves you. Ji Li, take care of yourself…”

The phone was ruthlessly snatched away by Mu Jinhang. Qin Xi’s smile froze on her face as she knelt down, hugging her legs and burying her face in her knees. Her slender shoulders trembled slightly as she suppressed her sobs, each sound striking Mu Jinhang’s heart and causing him immense pain.
“What will it take for you to forget them?” Mu Jinhang shouted in frustration.
Qin Xi lifted her head, tears glistening in her eyes as she shook it defiantly. “I can’t forget! Ning Bao is my child whom I struggled so hard to bring into this world. How could I ever forget… Mu Jinhang, we’ve already ended things. Please let me go!”
"You must be dreaming!" Mu Jinhang slammed his fist on the table, pain hidden deep in his eyes.
Unrequited love is the most hurtful of all.
He truly regretted breaking up with Qin Xi. Had he known he would love her this much, he shouldn't have cared about her past with Ji Li.
The atmosphere in the hospital room was extremely oppressive.
At that moment, Mu Jinhang suddenly received a call from his secretary. "Mr. Mu, it's bad! We are experiencing a malicious attack on our clients' private data from hackers..."
"I'm heading back to the company now!" Mu Jinhang furrowed his brow, hurriedly hanging up the phone. As he left the hospital room, he specifically instructed his bodyguard to keep a close watch on Qin Xi before driving off to the company.
All of Mu Group's clients were major businesses. If their data were leaked, it would undoubtedly result in significant losses.
When Mu Jinhang arrived at Mu Group, his secretary breathed a sigh of relief. "Rest assured, it's been resolved. The data hasn't been leaked, and the tech department is strengthening security measures."
"This matter must be thoroughly investigated!" Mu Jinhang commanded coldly. If he found out who was behind this, they would not escape unscathed!
At that moment, his bodyguard called in a panic. "Mr. Mu, Qin Jie has been taken away!"
"Who took her?" Mu Jinhang asked sharply.
"It was... Mr. Ji... He came personally with people to take her."
Bang!
Mu Jinhang angrily threw his phone to the ground.
In a flash of realization, he suddenly understood that the company's hacking incident was likely orchestrated by Ji Li; otherwise, how could the timing be so perfect?
After calming down for a moment, Mu Jinhang used his secretary's phone to call Ji Li.
"Did you take Qin Xi away?" he demanded.
"Yes," Ji Li replied without denial, her tone firm. "You don't deserve to be with her!"
"Very well!" Mu Jinhang sneered, a chilling intensity emanating from his gaze. "Ji Li, whether you deserve it or not is not for you to decide! If you dare to steal a woman from me, don't blame me for disregarding our friendship!"
