I said nothing as I picked up the knife beside me and walked over to Madam. She recoiled slightly, fear evident in her eyes. "What... what are you going to do?" she stammered. "Don't come any closer!"
I smiled and said, "Commander wants to use you as Living Fat."
Madam's expression changed dramatically.
A look of disbelief flashed in her eyes. "What did you say?"
"You heard me, Commander wants to use me as Living Fat?"
"Impossible!"
"You’re lying to me!"
She screamed, "I don't believe it!"
"You’re lying to me!"
"Commander would never do this to me!"
"Commander loves me so much; how could he use me as Living Fat?"
She struggled wildly, trying to escape. But the chains binding her were too tight, leaving her no chance of escape. She was like a butterfly caught in a net; no matter how hard she fought, it was all in vain.
"You’re lying to me!" she screamed, her voice piercing and desperate.
I laughed aloud.
I raised my hand and plunged the knife into her leg.
"Ah!"
She screamed, her voice a mix of anguish and pity.
Despair shone in her eyes. "It can't be..."
"Commander would never treat me this way..."
"You’re lying to me..."
"He wouldn't do this to me..."
She began to cry. But soon, she stopped sobbing.
Because, in front of her, I had skinned the flesh from her leg.
"Ah!"
Her scream echoed throughout the entire chamber.
The pain made her body arch in agony.
She cried out in despair, screaming for help.
But no one paid her any attention.
She could only watch as I cut away her flesh, piece by piece.
Her body convulsed from the pain.
Desperation filled her eyes as she looked at me, a pleading light shining through: "Please..."
"Please, spare me..."
I listened to her wails with an expressionless face.
She cursed at me, trying to insult me.
But I ignored her completely.
I smiled slightly, crouched down, and lifted her chin with the knife, forcing our eyes to meet: "Madam, you misunderstood something just now."
"The Commander does not want to use you as Living Fat."
"He wants to kill you and make you into Living Fat."
The color drained from Madam's face.
Shock filled her eyes: "What did you say?"
"You mean he's going to kill me?"
"Impossible!"
"You’re lying to me!"
"He can't kill me!"
In anger, she tried to rise from the ground.
Her qipao was stained with dirt, a mess all over.
She looked utterly disheveled.
I laughed softly: "Madam, do you really think you can walk out of this room alive today?"
Her body froze in place.
She looked at me in disbelief: "What do you mean?"
"What I mean is," I said with a smile as I gazed at her, "you must die here today."
"And you still have so many enemies outside."
"Do you think they would be happy if you died?"
The lady trembled.
She could only watch helplessly as I and the Second Concubine approached, our knives glinting in the light as we drew closer.
"No..."
"Please don't..."
She screamed in despair.
But it was of no use.
Desperation filled her eyes as she looked at us, a pleading light shining through: "Please...
"Please spare me..."
"I was wrong..."
"I won't dare again..."
"Please, spare me..."
I couldn't help but laugh.
I sliced off a piece of flesh and tossed it into the nearby bucket.
The Second Concubine picked up the meat, looking at it seriously.
"Sister," she said to Madam with a grave expression, "two years ago, you ordered the execution of two couples."
"What did they do wrong?"
"They did nothing wrong!"
"They were just a bit poor, and they accidentally got in your way!"
"But you? You found some excuse and killed them!"
"Did you ever think about their children?"
"How pitiful their children are!"
