That night, I lay in bed when suddenly I heard a rustling sound coming from outside the front door, as if something was moving in large numbers toward my home. 0

Startled by the noise, I quickly jumped out of bed and crouched by the window to look outside. It was dark, and I could see nothing, but the rustling sound grew louder, as if it had reached my doorstep. My heart raced with fear, dreading that whatever it was might burst into my home at any moment. 0

The sound persisted for a long time. My forehead was slick with cold sweat, and my legs trembled, but I dared not move. After a while, the noise finally began to fade away. 0

I let out a sigh of relief and wiped the sweat from my brow. Cautiously, I approached the door, wanting to see if whatever had been outside had left. 0

With a creak, the door slowly opened. Standing there was Jin Can Can, perfectly upright! 0

I was so startled by this sudden appearance that I fell back onto the floor, my heart pounding wildly. 0

“ sister Can Can, what are you doing?” I asked, a hint of annoyance creeping into my voice as I looked at Jin Can Can. 0

Jin Can Can wore an apologetic expression. “Sorry, I think I scared you. I heard some noise coming from your room and thought I’d come check on you.” 0

“Noise?” 0

I paused for a moment before realizing that when I had gotten out of bed earlier, it had indeed made quite a racket. Rubbing the back of my head, I got up from the floor. “ sister Can Can, did you hear any strange sounds?” 0

Jin Can Can shook her head. “No, I only heard some noise from your room; there wasn’t anything else.” 0

“Oh, I see.” 0

I nodded and was about to suggest that Jin Can Can go back to sleep when I suddenly noticed that her face was pale and carried an eerie undertone. 0

A chill ran down my spine as I looked at Jin Can Can. “ sister Can Can, are you okay?” 0

Jin Can Can shook her head. "I'm fine. How about you? Were you scared?" 0

I replied with a hum, "I might have been scared. I probably just misheard something. Um, sister Can Can, you should go back to sleep now. I’ll get some rest too." 0

I wanted to send Jin Can Can away as quickly as possible. I didn't know why, but she gave me a chilling feeling that made my heart uneasy. 0

Jin Can Can nodded. "Alright, get some rest. Try not to go out tonight." 0

With that, she closed the door behind her. 0

Seeing the door shut, I finally let out a sigh of relief. The tension I had felt moments ago vanished in an instant, replaced by a wave of exhaustion that left me slumped on the floor, unable to move. 0

I took a deep breath and struggled to get up from the ground. After splashing some water on my face, I lay down on the floor and drifted into a hazy sleep for the rest of the night. 0

The next morning, when I woke up, I found that Jin Can Can had already prepared breakfast. 0

I felt a bit embarrassed; after all, she was the guest—how could I let her make breakfast? 0

I approached her to express my gratitude, but when I looked at the food in front of me, I found it hard to swallow. 0

The steamed bun appeared to be coated in some sort of slimy substance, making it look very unappetizing. 0

I glanced at Jin Can Can and noticed she was watching me with eager anticipation. 0

Suppressing my questions, I thanked her and picked up the bun to take a bite. 0

As soon as I bit into it, I realized it wasn't just an illusion—the bun really was slimy! 0

And it wasn't just the bun; there was something similar in the porridge too! 0

What on earth is going on? 0

I felt a wave of nausea rising within me but couldn't show it on my face. I had to endure the discomfort and finish breakfast alongside Jin Can Can. 0
