One by one, I peeled open all the Lychees. Inside each Lychee was a Golden Eye, neatly arranged on the coffee table, their Pupils all turned towards me.
Suddenly, my phone rang with an unfamiliar number. Upon answering, a distorted laugh echoed from the other end. "Do you like my gift, Xu Rong? This is just the beginning..."
I hung up and stared at the table full of Eyeballs. They suddenly burst simultaneously, golden liquid spilling across the coffee table and forming a complex rune. My Right Eye began to throb painfully again, and a line of blood-red text appeared in my vision: "Day of Broken Boundaries, the Gatekeeper will regain power..."
I focused on the rune formed by the golden liquid on the table, and the pain in my Right Eye intensified. Suddenly, the liquid began to boil, transforming into golden steam that rose into the air. My vision was filled with golden light, and I felt myself being pulled into a strange space.
Here, I saw the full form of the "Gate." It was no longer a simple archway but a massive vortex made up of countless eyes. Each eye was rotating, its Pupil reflecting different worlds.
"You have finally arrived, Gatekeeper." An Ancient Voice echoed through the void. I felt the power of my Right Eye rapidly restoring, even stronger than before. Countless golden threads appeared in my vision, connecting various worlds and maintaining the balance of the universe. But now, these threads were snapping one by one.
"The boundaries are about to collapse," the voice said. "You must make a choice..."
Suddenly, my consciousness was yanked back to reality. Chen Ming had appeared in my living room at some point; his Right Eye was embedded with a glowing red Lychee, surrounded by an eerie black mist.
"Welcome to the final ritual," Chen Ming said with a wide grin. "Your eyes will help us complete the last step..."
I felt a powerful force gathering in my Right Eye and raised my hand to shoot out a beam of golden light. Chen Ming easily dodged it, and black mist formed a barrier around him.
"Useless," Chen Ming said. "Your power is still insufficient..."
Just then, my phone suddenly rang. Upon answering, Lin Xiaoyu's voice came through, "Xu Rong, listen to me. You must find the core of the 'Gate'; only there can you fully restore the Guardian's power..."
The call abruptly cut off, and a sharp pain shot through my Right Eye. A map appeared in my vision, marking the location of the 'Gate' core. It was an abandoned subway station that had been closed for twenty years due to a mysterious accident.
"Thinking of running?" Chen Ming sneered as the black mist transformed into countless sharp claws lunging at me. I closed my eyes, feeling the power of my Right Eye.
When I opened them again, I found myself standing at the entrance of the Abandoned Subway Station. Chen Ming's figure followed closely behind, his Right Eye glowing with an eerie red light.
The subway station was shrouded in thick fog, and glowing runes covered the walls. My Right Eye began to heat up, revealing countless golden threads in my vision, all pointing towards an iron door at the end of the platform.
"That is the core of the 'Gate,'" Lin Xiaoyu's voice echoed in my mind, "but you must be careful..."
I dashed towards the iron door, with Chen Ming hot on my heels. Just as I was about to touch the door, Chen Ming's black mist transformed into a giant hand, slamming me hard against the wall.
"Do you really think you can stop us?" Chen Ming sneered. "The boundaries are about to collapse; when that happens..."
