Michelle's home wall is adorned with several old band posters and a few worn but spirited guitars. A vintage record player softly plays rock music in the corner.
"These are all relics from my youth. Back then, life was like these melodies, full of energy and change," Michelle says as she takes out a coffee cup.
"So many years have passed, and you still keep so many mementos. It's truly admirable," Amy said with a sincere smile, her eyes also showing a hint of curiosity.
"Those days were my everything. How could I possibly forget?" Michelle carefully ground the coffee beans in a manual grinder.
" This coffee is made from the coffee beans I roasted myself. I hope you will like it," Michelle said as she served the coffee, and the rich aroma filled the entire space.
"Wow, this is really delicious!" Nick exclaimed in surprise, almost finishing the entire cup of coffee.
"Indeed, this may be one of the best coffees I've ever had," said Amy, nodding in agreement as she took a leisurely sip.
"I'm glad you both like it," Michelle smiled, then walked over to the old-fashioned piano in the corner of the room, wiping away the dust that had accumulated on the keys. "So, are you ready to hear me play a piece?"
"Of course, very much looking forward to it," Amy and Nick answered almost simultaneously, as if at that moment, they were drawn into this world full of mystery and stories.
Michelle sat down and began to play gently. It started with a tender prelude, followed by a passionate and climactic section.
The music is smooth and full of emotion, as if every note is telling a story and every chord is revealing a secret.
Amy and Nick are both deeply drawn in, as if they are being led into a whole new world.
"This song was created when I was young, together with the band members. It was a time filled with dreams and challenges," Michelle paused, feeling a bit nostalgic.
"How did you manage to create such moving music back then?" Nick asked, finding it all quite unbelievable.
"Creation always comes from life, from every moment of feeling and understanding. You just need to immerse yourself in it, and then capture with your heart the things that move you," Michelle said earnestly.
"So, for you, music is a reflection of life?" Amy asked.
"Yes, it is my life, my everything," Michelle answered firmly.
"That's why I chose to live here, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, closer to nature and my inner self," he said, looking out the window. The moonlight filtered through the leaves and sprinkled onto the ground, everything seemed so peaceful.
"This place indeed has a unique kind of magic," Amy said passionately, gazing into Michelle's wise and silent eyes.
Sitting on the sofa in the living room, the three of them began to talk about the eerie community and the unusual big tree.
"I heard that this place used to be a monastery a long time ago. However, the monastery was later demolished, and these houses were gradually built. But to be honest, it has never been quite peaceful here," Michelle said with a serious tone.
"Not peaceful?" Nick asked with a hint of nervousness.
"Yeah, but ever since Francis, the clergyman, moved in, things have improved a lot. He's always praying, and I think it has a balancing effect on this place," Michelle explained.
"So, what about the big tree?" Amy asked.
"Well, on some nights, you might hear strange sounds or see some abnormal things happening. Like that big tree, some people say it's the heart of this land, absorbing all the energy here - the good, the bad, and even the eerie," Michelle's tone carried a kind of terrifying seriousness, sending shivers down one's spine.
Amy felt a chill run down her spine and thought, "That tree does seem rather unusual. Her instincts told her that this was definitely more than just a tree.
"It's interesting that despite these strange occurrences, the people here still choose to stay. Perhaps they are drawn by some kind of power here," Michelle broke the silence, a playful glint in his eyes.
"I think every place has its unknown side, and that's the fun of exploring," Amy tried to lighten the mood with humor.
"Exploring is fun, yes, but it also has its risks. Especially when you don't know what you're looking for," Michelle warned, his face more serious than usual.
"So, what's so special about that tree?" Nick couldn't help but ask, filled with curiosity about it all.
"It's not just the tree, this whole area has a kind of strange attraction. I heard that someone once saw a door next to the tree, a door that only children could pass through," Michelle shook her head, seeming unsure if she should reveal more.
Amy and Nick locked eyes, both thinking about the mysterious little door they had discovered shortly after moving in. Amy swallowed hard, feeling increasingly puzzled and uneasy.
"We've seen that door too," Amy said quietly.
"Have you seen it before?" Michelle's expression turned serious.
"Yes, we found it while exploring the new house. The door seems to be part of a big tree, blending in. It's easy to miss if you don't look closely," Nick added.
"Have you ever tried going in to take a look?" Michelle asked curiously.
"Not yet, but we plan to go very soon," Amy replied, although she felt uneasy inside. They had already been there several times, but after hearing Michelle's words, she dared not admit it.
"Before you go, there's only one thing I want to say: proceed with caution."
"This place is somewhat unusual, especially that tree and everything around it," Jack's words were like a cold shower, sending a chill through everyone present.
"I will remember, Mr. Michelle," Nick nodded, as if he had already made up his mind.
"If you really decide to go, I hope you can take this with you. This was left by Francis, he asked me to give it to those in need," Michelle took out two small wooden crosses from her pocket, "It has a protective and exorcising effect, perhaps it will help you."
"Thank you, Michelle. We will be careful," Amy took two crosses and felt a warm sensation. She then put one of them in a small bag and turned the other into a necklace for her brother Nick to wear.
"Okay, the conversation has gotten a bit heavy. How about I play a song to liven up the atmosphere?" Michelle stood up and walked over to the guitar in the corner.
"Good idea," Amy smiled, although her doubts and unease still lingered in her heart.
Michelle picked up the guitar and started playing. The music sounded particularly beautiful on this eerie night.
This visit has given Amy and Nick a lot to think about. After leaving Michelle's house, they walked home lost in their own thoughts.
"There are definitely some unusual things going on here," Nick said nervously.
"Yeah, but at least we know it's not just us feeling this way. Looks like we'll need to be more careful from now on," responded Amy.
