“Quick, we need to go! There’s a bomb here!”
Jiang Ming's voice was urgent and firm, like a thunderclap ringing in everyone’s ears.
Upon hearing his words, several people stood frozen in shock.
Drui Feng's eyes widened as he gazed down at the tiny landscape a kilometer below, his mouth slightly agape, his face filled with terror and confusion. “W-where do we go?”
His voice trembled slightly, and his legs involuntarily shook.
Jiang Wenyu furrowed her brows tightly, her expression forming a deep frown.
She didn’t respond verbally; instead, her slender fingers moved rapidly. Vines, like agile green snakes, slithered from her fingertips and quickly spread throughout the corners of the cabin.
Her gaze was focused and calm as she meticulously searched for the bomb’s location. Soon, she spotted it on a valve of the power system.
The bomb was dark and ominous, with a small red light flickering on it like the eyes of a demon, blinking rhythmically.
Jiang Wenyu bit her lip, contemplating: If I detach it and drop it from this height, the helicopter will stop flying; it would be no different than being blown up.
Jiang Ming's expression was grave. He swiftly removed his jacket and tossed it aside like a falling leaf into a corner.
He gripped the metal frame of the cabin door tightly, the veins on his arms standing out like winding snakes.
“I’ll jump first. You all follow after me; I’ll catch you,” his voice was steady and powerful, instilling an undeniable sense of safety.
With those words, Jiang Ming leaped out of the helicopter.
In the moment he jumped down, his body was enveloped by a dazzling white light, and in the next second, a massive Six-Winged White Tiger appeared in the air.
The tiger's fur flowed like silver snow in the wind, each strand shimmering with brilliance. It exuded an imposing presence, its six wings gently flapping, stirring the surrounding air into chaos.
Those deep blue eyes resembled a profound lake, revealing determination and courage.
Watching this scene unfold before him, Drui Feng's mouth dropped open wide enough to fit an egg.
"Wow, Jiang Ge's true form is so cool!" His eyes sparkled with excitement and envy.
At the very moment Jiang Ming transformed back into his true form, Yan Qing took a deep breath and leaped down from the heights with unwavering resolve.
His figure was as light as a swallow, the edges of his clothing rustling in the wind. Jiang Ming immediately flew toward him, the powerful gusts generated by his massive wings supporting Yan Qing.
Yan Qing landed steadily on Jiang Ming's back, his hand gently resting on the tiger's soft and warm fur.
Seeing that Yan Qing was safe, Jiang Wenyu quickly waved her hands, and vines began to surge forth from her palms.
The vines intertwined and twisted together, forming a makeshift "kite."
Using the wind to her advantage, she jumped down from the helicopter. The vines danced in the breeze as Jiang Wenyu floated through the air like a green sprite.
At that moment, there were only ten seconds left until the explosion.
Noticing that Drui Feng was still frozen above, Yan Qing felt a surge of urgency. He shouted toward Drui Feng, "Hurry down!" His voice grew sharp with tension.
Drui Feng took a deep breath, a resolute expression crossing his face as he bit down on his lip, seemingly having made a significant decision. He leaped towards Jiang Ming and Yan Qing, his body shooting towards them like an arrow released from a bow.
Just two seconds after he jumped, the helicopter erupted with a deafening roar and exploded.
Flames shot into the sky, thick black smoke billowing as the wreckage of the helicopter rained down around them.
The shockwave struck Drui Feng, sending him crashing hard against Jiang Ming's back.
Caught off guard by the impact, Yan Qing lost his grip on Jiang Ming and half of his body fell to the side.
Realizing Yan Qing's precarious position, Jiang Ming's heart raced as he quickly lowered Flying's altitude.
In mid-air, Jiang Wenyu extended her vines, which seemed to have a mind of their own as they accurately grasped Jiang Ming. She then gracefully landed on his back.
The four of them descended rapidly towards the ocean's surface. With just over a hundred meters left to go, Yan Qing and Jiang Ming had the clearest view and spotted dozens of ships below flying the Deep Sea Sprite flag.
"It's Deep Sea Sprite; we need to split up," Yan Qing shouted into the wind, his hair whipping wildly around him.
"This is still high up; wait until we're closer," Jiang Ming called back loudly.
He understood what Yan Qing intended to do. Being at such a height was akin to being a live target, but the Derived Potion that Yan Qing carried would blend perfectly with the deep sea, making it their best ally.
The people below quickly noticed their presence; the noise from above had been too loud for them to ignore.
Now that they were within the range of artillery fire, aside from Yan Qing being somewhat at risk due to the height, the three of them could basically ensure their own safety.
The artillery shells rained down on them, and Jiang Ming skillfully dodged to the side, evading the onslaught.
As he approached the water's surface, he opened his mouth wide, gathering ice crystals within. Those ice crystals sparkled in the sunlight like dazzling gems. Jiang Ming aimed at the ships, firing off the icy projectiles. The vessels struck were instantly frozen along with everyone on board, resembling exquisite ice sculptures.
Drui Feng leaped backward, landing precisely on one of the ships. A fierce glint flashed in his eyes as he clenched his fists, unleashing powerful lightning from behind a man holding a gun. The lightning danced across the deck like silver serpents, knocking down everyone nearby. Those struck convulsed violently, their hair standing on end as they emitted pained groans.
Jiang Wenyu summoned a vine barrier. Being at sea limited her Psychic Ability, preventing her from unleashing her full power, but it was sufficient to protect Jiang Ming and Drui Feng from attacks coming from their blind spots. Vines rose around them, forming a green fortress that blocked incoming assaults.
While everyone was engaged in fierce combat on the water's surface, Yan Qing stealthily swam towards a ship at the back.
His fish tail moved gracefully through the water like a sharp pair of scissors cutting through the waves. He injected himself with a Derived Potion, transforming into a mermaid. His upper body retained its human form, and his fair skin appeared even more translucent in the sea.
As soon as Yan Qing climbed aboard the ship, he witnessed a man kick one of his teammates into the water and steer the vessel outward for an assault.
"There's no way I'm going to be your cannon fodder."
The man spat on the deck, his jowls shaking with the motion.
"Bah! These guys are nowhere near A Level. We’ve lost nearly all forty of our brothers and still don’t know why the boss insisted we come here to capture some humans."
Suddenly appearing behind him, Yan Qing's voice was as cold as iron from the depths of the sea. "Capture whom?"
