“What the hell are you doing, Zhou Xingshu? Dragging me out here in the middle of the night instead of going home!” Lu Mingyu complained, frowning and clearly annoyed. 0

He and Zhou Xingshu were walking side by side in the small grove behind Building 13. 0

The grove appeared eerie and tranquil under the night sky, with moonlight filtering through the sparse branches, casting dappled shadows on the ground. 0

As they walked, Lu Mingyu shot sideways glances at Zhou Xingshu, filled with disdain for his decision to come to this secluded place at such an hour. 0

His already rebellious face was now etched with reluctance; the corners of his mouth turned down slightly, and he deliberately dragged his feet, crunching a few fallen leaves beneath him. 0

“What do you think I brought you here for? Don’t you realize what you’ve done? Do I need to spell it out for you?” Zhou Xingshu suddenly stopped, turning around to shout at Lu Mingyu. 0

His eyes were wide with fury, burning with anger, and his face flushed slightly from the intensity of his emotions. His hair was a bit disheveled, swaying as he gestured animatedly, looking particularly infuriated. 0

Lu Mingyu watched as Zhou Xingshu aggressively placed his hands on both sides of his arms, gripping tighter and tighter until a dull ache began to spread through his limbs. 0

Furrowing his brow, Lu Mingyu forcefully shook off Zhou Xingshu's grip while rubbing his arm. He glared back at him. “Can you not grab me like that? Just talk normally!” His voice carried a hint of irritation, his eyes reflecting his displeasure. 0

“How am I not talking normally? Just tell me what your relationship is with that girl! Why would she bring you water if there’s nothing going on? Are you starting to flirt around again?” 0

Zhou Xingshu's voice grew louder, echoing through the quiet grove and startling a few birds resting in the trees. 0

His chest heaved with agitation as he waved his arms in the air, becoming increasingly animated. 0

Lu Mingyu rolled his eyes and turned away, stretching lazily as if he were completely indifferent to the situation. 0

“Ha! So this is why you dragged me out here in the middle of the night. How would I know? I don’t even know that girl! She’s just some classmate; we’re not close at all.” 0

He spoke nonchalantly, his tone dripping with indifference as he shrugged his shoulders. 0

"Do you think a stranger would bring you water?" Zhou Xingshu shouted, and before his words had fully left his mouth, he lunged forward, shoving Lu Mingyu against the nearby wall. 0

The impact was sudden and forceful, causing Lu Mingyu's back to slam against the wall with a painful thud, eliciting a sharp gasp from him. Zhou Xingshu then reached out, pinning both of Lu Mingyu's hands above his head, his gaze fixed intensely on Lu Mingyu as if trying to see right through him. 0

In Zhou Xingshu's eyes, alongside the anger, there was a hint of worry that was barely perceptible, but it was completely overshadowed by his rage at that moment. 0

The situation they had anticipated did not unfold as expected; instead, it seemed to be heading in an entirely different direction. Jiang Ming's gaze flickered awkwardly away, as if burned, and he quickly averted his eyes. He dared not look in that direction again and lowered his head in a fluster, only to find himself staring into Yan Qing's eyes, which were mere inches away. 0

The distance between them was less than 10 centimeters, close enough for them to feel each other's breath. 0

Yan Qing sensed Jiang Ming's warm breath brushing against his face; the warmth felt like an electric current, causing his ears to flush red as if they might bleed from embarrassment. 0

He felt a bit flustered but tried hard to steady himself, feigning calmness as he continued to watch Zhou Xingshu and Lu Mingyu in the distance. However, the slight tremor of his eyelashes betrayed the tension within him. 0

"Lu Mingyu, you still don’t plan on telling me what your relationship is with that girl, do you? Can’t you see how much I care about you?" Zhou Xingshu's voice trembled slightly, his eyes shimmering with complex emotions—anger, grievance, and a trace of fear. "I brought you away from that hellhole; we’ve traveled through so much just to be here for our future together. Are you planning to use me up and then throw me away?" 0

By the end of his statement, Zhou Xingshu’s voice took on an inexplicable tone of hurt, resembling an injured little beast. His trembling lips and reddened eyes revealed the pain he was feeling inside. 0

Lu Mingyu was taken aback by this sudden accusation. His eyes widened in disbelief as he gasped in shock, looking as if he had just heard the most unbelievable news in the world. 0

After a moment of processing, Lu Mingyu finally responded hurriedly, "What are you imagining now? I hardly know that girl! She’s just a classmate who might have a crush on me. What does that have to do with anything? Besides, I didn’t even take her bottle of water; you drank it all already! Why are you so angry?" 0

As he spoke, Lu Mingyu seemed to want to soothe Zhou Xingshu’s anger. He extended one leg and gently nudged Zhou Xingshu's calf in a gesture that was both affectionate and conciliatory. 0

"Please don’t be mad anymore, okay? You’re acting like a ticking time bomb!" Lu Mingyu looked at Zhou Xingshu with gentle eyes filled with fondness. 0

He easily withdrew one hand to touch Zhou Xingshu’s cheek but hesitated. In the end, he merely patted Zhou Xingshu’s shoulder lightly in an attempt to ease his emotions. 0

It seemed as if the entire world had come to a standstill at that moment, with a subtle and awkward atmosphere hanging in the air. 0

Yan Qing felt that if he continued to look, his heart would leap out of his throat. It was as if he had been scalded by something, and he suddenly turned around. 0

As he turned, he unexpectedly found himself gazing deep into Jiang Ming's eyes. At the same time, their noses brushed against each other, and in that instant, a slight electric current seemed to pass between them, causing both to freeze in surprise. 0

The distance between their lips was now less than 2 centimeters, close enough to feel the breath escaping from each other's mouths. 0

Jiang Ming's eyes widened slightly, reflecting Yan Qing's flustered yet pleasantly surprised face. His breathing quickened, warm air brushing against Yan Qing's skin. 0

Yan Qing felt the same way; his heart raced like a drum, the sound echoing loudly in the stillness around them. 0

Their breaths intertwined, the exchanged warmth akin to the hottest wind of summer, enveloping their faces and bringing a tingling sensation. 0

This heat spread from their faces down their necks, rising as if ignited by fire, causing their temperatures to soar. 0

Yan Qing's cheeks flushed like ripe apples, the rosy hue extending to his ears, appearing particularly enticing under the moonlight. 0

Jiang Ming was not much better off; a hint of shyness flickered in his eyes, but more so an indescribable emotion. His once bright gaze now seemed veiled with a misty haze, making him even more captivating. 0

They stood there silently staring at each other, neither moving as if time had stopped for them. The world around faded away, leaving only their hurried breaths and the thunderous beating of their hearts, creating an ambiguous melody in that confined space. 0
