A fifteen or sixteen-year-old boy lay on a dilapidated wooden bed, his face pale and gaunt. Suddenly, his breath hitched, his head tilted to one side, and he died. If no one had discovered him, he would have become just another rotting corpse in a home. 0

Out of nowhere, a black hole appeared above the boy's head, and then a seven-inch Little Black Snake blinked and slithered into his skull. The boy's eyelids twitched, and with a muffled groan, he slowly opened his eyes. 0

At first, confusion clouded his gaze, but clarity soon replaced it. He sat up abruptly and surveyed his surroundings; it looked like a farmer's house. Shaking his head slightly, he froze as a flood of memories surged into his mind. His body trembled, veins bulging in his hands as cold sweat broke out on his forehead. Yet he gritted his teeth and endured; the pain in his head was nothing compared to what he had faced before. 0

An County? Had he crossed over? And Qin Feng—what a coincidence! Qin Feng's expression quickly relaxed as astonishment washed over him. However, he soon accepted the reality; after all, in his previous life, he had been a cultivator. 0

He was originally from the Blue Star Dragon Kingdom and had been fascinated by tales of immortality since childhood. He had sought out numerous Taoist masters, but they all turned out to be frauds. Eventually, he stumbled upon an ancient text that claimed it could enable someone to cultivate a dragon. Others would surely scoff at such a notion, but he believed it and practiced diligently. To his surprise, he actually made some progress. 0

As this thought crossed his mind, he focused intently, and with a whoosh, a seven-inch Little Black Snake appeared in his hand. He was overjoyed; he hadn’t expected that the Ling Snake he had cultivated would accompany him here. 0

The ancient text stated that the first step was to find a place with Dragon Veins and somehow absorb a bit of its energy before slowly nurturing it with one's Destiny Energy until one could cultivate a True Dragon. At that point, one could transform from human to dragon. 0

The first step seemed easy enough, but as an ordinary person, where would he find any Destiny Energy to nurture a dragon? He could only work hard to earn money; surely the world's richest would have plenty of Destiny Energy. Perhaps this spiritual vein had altered his Destiny Energy because everything he did went smoothly. He indeed accumulated significant wealth and even nurtured that spiritual vein into a Seven-Inch Black Snake. 0

However, with wealth came envy. His competitors hired assassins against him... 0

Although he had managed to fend off several waves of attacks with the Black Snake, they ultimately went mad and installed a large number of bombs inside the house. He only heard a loud bang, and when he regained consciousness, he found himself here. 0

Qin Feng's eyes flickered as he utilized the perspective of the Black Snake to look above him. A straight line stood upright; this was one of the Black Snake's innate abilities, allowing him to observe a person's Destiny Energy. Since he and the Black Snake were one entity, he naturally possessed this ability as well. He frowned slightly, puzzled. Wasn't the original owner a Scholar? Why did he have such a dark Destiny Energy? 0

With a flick of his hand, the Black Snake darted through the wall and flew outside, perching on the wall to gaze outward. The streets were filled with ragged commoners, and to his surprise, most of them had gray or even black Destiny Energy lines above their heads. 0

Qin Feng was taken aback. Was this how it was in ancient times? Only Scholars could be considered ordinary people? That was the only conclusion he could come up with. Shaking his head, he beckoned with his hand, and the Black Snake instantly flew back into his grasp. 0

As Qin Feng retracted the Black Snake into his body and prepared to get out of bed, he finally realized how weak this body was. 0
