Chapter Four: The Gathering of Demons 0

Gabriel felt a deep sense of unease. This was not something a newly emerged little demon like him should be involved in. 0

It was clearly a recruitment of cannon fodder to meet their doom. 0

Other demons might be eager, but he was not so willing. This was dangerous work, and he would have to pay with his own soul. 0

Yet, he dared not show even a hint of dissatisfaction. He was in the 361st layer of the Abyss, facing the lofty Abyss Lord Azazel, and there was also the formidable Mid-tier Demon, the Great Horned Demon, present. 0

"Good! I've been wanting to kill those two-legged sheep!" shouted a burly demon. "I've heard their souls are incredibly sweet and delicious!" 0

At this declaration, all the demons present erupted in excitement. 0

While invading other worlds was not uncommon in the Abyss, such opportunities were indeed rare across its countless layers. 0

After all, human souls were considered the most valuable currency in the Abyss. From newly born little demons to high-ranking demon lords, no one would refuse them. 0

"For Lord Azazel!" Gabriel shouted as well. 0

Whether it was the Two-Headed Ghoul or the Fire Lizard Demon, they all gathered around, eagerly anticipating moments of destruction and chaos. 0

The cave echoed with the cheers of demons. 0

The Great Horned Demon scanned the crowd and his gaze landed on Gabriel. 0

Gabriel's heart raced with anxiety. 0

"Interesting," Naxos snorted, sulfurous sparks flying from his nostrils as a glimmer of light flickered in his eyes. 0

"You've done well, kid. You've actually become a Little Demon," said Naxos, his voice tinged with surprise. "It's been hundreds of years since I've seen a demon fresh from the River of Origin turn into a Little Demon." 0

Suddenly, his tail spike pressed against Gabriel's throat, the dark red tail whip wrapping around his neck with a swift motion. 0

"From this moment on," he continued, pulling Gabriel to his side, "this little guy is your captain!" 0

"You all must obey his commands!" 0

In an instant, the cave fell silent. 0

The other demons stared at Gabriel with malicious intent, as if they were ready to carve a piece of flesh from him. 0

One Two-Headed Demon could no longer contain himself and roared, "I refuse! Why should a maggot give orders?" 0

As the roar echoed through the cave, the Two-Headed Demon charged at Gabriel, spewing green flames. 0

The left head screamed, "Tear him apart!" while the right head cackled madly, "I want to eat his eyeballs!" 0

Naxos stepped back slightly from the shadows, his bat-like wings stretching comfortably. The mocking bloodlight flickered in his compound eyes, showing no intention of punishing this offending creature. 0

It seemed he did not wish to get involved in this fight. 0

One of the rules among demons: words mean nothing; only strength counts. 0

Even though the Great Horned Demon had appointed Gabriel as captain, if the Two-Headed Demon managed to take him down, then the Two-Headed Demon could also become the leader of this group of demons. 0

In the world of demons, strength reigns supreme! 0

Since that is the case, one must showcase their abilities; otherwise, the rabble below will continue to rebel. 0

Gabriel tilted his head to let the fangs pass, and suddenly, the scales on his right hand exploded. As the rapidly growing claws pierced through the left side of his skull, a foul spray of brain matter splattered across his right side. 0

"You fool!" The remaining head of the Lesser Demon cackled as it lunged for the boy's throat. "I still have—" 0

A black-scaled tail shot through its right temple like a steel spear, silencing its laughter instantly. 0

Gabriel stepped on the two exploded heads and turned around, blood dripping from the tip of his tail to form a fiery circle. "Now, who else wants to try being the captain?" 0

The demons all retreated in unison, clearly intimidated by Gabriel for the time being. 0

But in a few days, they would rebel again. 0

As for future rebellions, that could wait until later. 0

Naxos laughed heartily, his voice echoing and causing stones to fall from the cave ceiling. "It's time to move out, you bunch of trash." 0

He suddenly snapped the bone chain around his neck, and the dark purple crystal dissolved into the ever-present mist of the cave, coalescing into a pitch-black mirror. 0

From this vantage point, it was filled with demons! 0

"Is this our gathering place?" 0

"What are you staring at? Let’s go!" 0

Before they could examine it closely, they were sucked away. 0

... 0

Crack. 0

Gabriel crushed a weathered demon spine beneath his feet, and sulfurous mist suddenly erupted from the cracks in the ground, scorching his steel-like scales until they glowed red. 0

He looked up to see the sky and earth teeming with demons. 0

"Mid-tier Demon, High-Level Demon, Great Demon, Silver Demon, Golden Demon, Epic Demon." 0

"The scale of this invasion is so vast that only the Legendary Demon has yet to appear." 0

Gabriel surveyed his surroundings, astonished that Abyss Lord Azazel could summon such a multitude of demons to invade another world. 0

"With this lineup, even without the Legendary Demon intervening, it would be enough to annihilate a world!" 0

"And with the 361st layer Abyss Lord Azazel personally involved, what kind of powerful world could provoke such a battle? Is this even a war I can partake in?" 0

Hearing Gabriel's exclamation, a nearby goblin couldn't help but chuckle. 0

"You think this is all of it?" 0

"Look over there at those three lords! They all possess Legendary Tier Strength!" 0

Following the goblin's point direction, the most striking figure was a towering Rotting Flesh Troll standing three hundred meters tall. 0

The creature resembled a mass of decaying flesh—its body covered in festering sores, from which several-meter-long maggots occasionally wriggled out. 0

"Get away from me, you disgusting thing!" 0

Not far from the troll stood a Six-Winged Serpent Demon, about the same height as a human, wielding a longsword that matched her own length. She spoke disdainfully to the troll. 0

Seeing the troll's body occasionally burst and spew thick fluid that might splatter on her, she swung her sword and severed one of the troll's arms. 0

The fallen arm crushed several demons beneath it, and the thick fluid spread across the ground, devouring those demons who couldn't escape in time. 0

Even though there were a few Silver Tier Demons among them, they paid no heed to the chaos. 0
Without reaching legendary status, one is merely an ant. 0

Even a Golden-Ranked Demon is not enough to warrant a second glance from them. 0

The troll, unfazed by having half of its arm severed by the Six-Winged Serpent Demon, clumsily picked something up from the ground and stuffed it into its mouth. 0

Before long, maggots crawled out from the stump of its arm, transforming into a new limb for the troll. 0

Gabriel's keen eyes recognized that what he saw were not mere scraps, but several Great Demons. 0

These demons, capable of annihilating entire nations in some worlds, were casually consumed as snacks by the Legendary Demon. 0

"This place is truly chilling!" 0

Here, the safety of life is not guaranteed; everything depends on the whims of those powerful Great Demons and their attitudes towards you. 0

"I must grow stronger continuously to ensure that those who see me as an ant dare not challenge me lightly." 0

Gabriel vowed silently, choosing to act discreetly to avoid unnecessary trouble. 0

He even neglected to manage his own demonic subordinates. 0

Thus, three days passed quietly. 0

During this time, more demons like Gabriel flooded into this area, further swelling the already massive demonic population. 0

Demons passing through the 361st layer of the Abyss, unaware of the situation, mistakenly believed it was Heaven invading the Abyss and hurriedly fled in fear. 0

On this seemingly ordinary yet treacherous day, the oppressive aura emanating from the High-Level Demons inexplicably receded. The normally tense trolls and Six-Winged Serpent Demons were now eerily quiet, as if under a spell of paralysis. 0

The entire Demon Realm was shrouded in an invisible force, so still it was unsettling, as if all evil awaited the arrival of a more formidable power. 0

Only those ignorant Low-Level Demons continued to frolic carelessly, completely unaware of the impending storm. 0

A thunderous roar echoed, like rolling thunder crashing in the ears, shaking the very ground beneath. 0

Gabriel was drawn by the sound, curiously peeking out to see what was happening. 0

In the distance, a deep fissure slowly opened, resembling a giant mouth from hell. An Abyssal Behemoth, its body covered in a blazing shell of molten lava, was struggling to squeeze through that crack. 0

With each step it took, the earth trembled in response, and hot magma dripped from its form, scorching black pits into the ground below. 0

On the back of the colossal beast were hundreds of Fire Lizard Demons, their bodies flickering with an eerie red glow in the darkness. Each lizard demon tightly coiled its tail around a Soul Crystal that emitted black smoke, as if imprisoning countless tormented souls within, producing faint cries of anguish. 0

Amidst this swarm of Fire Lizard Demons sat a demon no larger than a Great Horned Demon. 0

He was none other than Azazel, the Demon Lord. 0

Though his stature was unremarkable among the multitude of demons, the aura he exuded sent chills down spines. It was an essence that transcended evil—a disregard and mastery over all things in existence. 0

The previously vacant gaze of a Rotting Flesh Troll sharpened instantly, fixating on Azazel with an expression of grave seriousness. 0

Meanwhile, the usually haughty Six-Winged Serpent Demon folded her wings and descended slowly from the sky, cradling her razor-sharp sword as she bowed her head towards Azazel in the distance. 0

The entire Demon Realm fell into a state of absolute submission and reverence at Azazel's arrival. 0
