Surrounded by a void of darkness, he felt himself plummeting endlessly.
Various sounds echoed in his ears—screams, cries, laughter, and the whispers of countless people.
Suddenly, he crashed heavily onto the ground. Strangely, he felt no pain.
Opening his eyes, he found himself standing in a familiar room—his home with his wife.
“Xu Rong...”
His wife’s voice drifted from the kitchen.
Xu Rong walked toward the kitchen, but with each step, the surroundings began to distort. The walls flowed like melting wax, and the furniture twisted and warped.
As he pushed open the kitchen door, instead of his wife, he was met by a massive Tumor.
“Welcome to the Consciousness Maze...”
The Tumor emitted a chorus of countless voices.
Xu Rong turned and ran, but the door had vanished.
He realized he was trapped in a constantly shifting labyrinth, with walls covered in pulsating veins and a viscous liquid flowing across the floor.
Suddenly, he heard footsteps behind him.
Turning around, he saw Chen Ming.
But Chen Ming looked horrifyingly grotesque—his body melted like wax, his face covered in Compound Eyes.
“You can’t escape...”
Chen Ming let out a distorted laugh, “We are all part of the Mother Body...”
Xu Luode ran desperately, but the maze seemed to stretch infinitely.
With every corner he turned, he encountered terrifying sights—experiment subjects transformed into monsters, infants floating in culture fluid, and countless distorted Human Faces writhing on the walls.
Suddenly, he felt his body beginning to change.
Looking down, he saw his arms becoming transparent, glowing patterns emerging on his skin.
Those patterns writhed like living things, gradually spreading throughout his body.
"Accept reality..."
The voice of the Mother Body echoed in his mind, "You are our masterpiece..."
Xu Luode felt his consciousness begin to blur as countless fragments of memories surged into his mind. He saw himself as a baby, placed into the Cultivation Pod; he saw his wife crying in the laboratory; he witnessed countless people struggling in agony during experiments.
At that moment, he heard a familiar voice: "Xu Rong, wake up!"
It was Doctor Lin.
Xu Luode jolted awake, finding himself lying on a hospital bed. But in the next second, the surroundings began to twist. Blood seeped from the walls, medical instruments transformed into terrifying torture devices, and doctors and nurses morphed into grotesque monsters.
"This is all an illusion..." Xu Luode murmured to himself.
"No, this is reality..." The voice of the Mother Body resonated, "You have been living in an illusion all along..."
Xu Luode felt a splitting headache as the boundary between reality and illusion blurred. He saw his hospital bed morph into a fleshy Cultivation Pod, and the IV tubes turned into writhing Tentacles.
Suddenly, he felt a powerful force surging within him. The glowing patterns no longer terrified him; instead, they filled him with an unprecedented strength. Xu Luode sat up abruptly, realizing that the illusions around him had vanished.
But when he looked into the mirror, what he saw was a horrifying sight—his eyes had transformed into serpent-like slits, glowing patterns emerged beneath his skin, and sharp Bone Blades sprouted from his hands.
"At last..." The voice of the Mother Body brimmed with ecstasy, "You have completed your final awakening..."
Xu Luode felt his consciousness being pulled into a vortex.
When he opened his eyes again, he found himself standing in a vast underground cave. Surrounding him were countless pulsating meat cocoons, and at the center loomed a massive tumor. But this time, he no longer felt fear. For he knew that he had become a being more terrifying than the Mother Body.
