In an instant, it dawned on him that the creature before him was indeed a masterpiece of Old. The monster let out a low growl and lunged at Chen Rui. He quickly stepped back, drawing his short blade, but the creature's strength far exceeded that of an ordinary person. With a single swipe, it forced him to retreat several steps. Chen Rui barely steadied himself, quickly adjusting his breathing as he calmly observed the monster's attack patterns. 0

Without any hesitation, the creature charged at him again, its speed so fast that it was hard to react. Chen Rui failed to dodge in time and was struck by a punch to his shoulder, sending a jolt of pain through him that nearly caused him to lose his balance. The monster's power was immense; one blow made him feel as if his bones were about to crack. 0

Realizing that continuing to fight head-on would only lead him to ruin, Chen Rui swiftly scanned his surroundings and noticed several vials of potions on a nearby laboratory table, labeled with the words "Paralytic Agent." Perhaps he could use this to his advantage. An idea formed in his mind. 0

Feigning exhaustion, he stumbled toward the table. A glint of bloodlust flashed in the monster's eyes as it quickly pursued him. Just as the creature closed in, Chen Rui grabbed a vial from the table and smashed it against its eyes. 0

The glass shattered, and the Paralytic Agent splashed across the monster's face. It let out a pained roar and paused momentarily, as if the potion had taken effect. Seizing the opportunity, Chen Rui swiftly maneuvered behind the creature and aimed for its neck, delivering a sharp stab. 0

The monster struggled for a few moments before finally collapsing to the ground with one last low growl, its life extinguished. 0

Chen Rui gasped for breath; the intense pain in his shoulder made every inhalation feel like tearing agony. He knew he had to leave this place quickly. He searched around and collected several research reports and experimental records from the lab, ensuring he could gather more information about Old. 0

Just as he prepared to escape, alarms blared throughout the factory—clearly, the recent battle had alerted other guards. The sound of heavy footsteps echoed from all directions; Chen Rui realized there was no way out but to fight his way through. 0

He dashed toward the factory's main entrance, briefly clashing with several guards along the way. Using his precise combat skills, he managed to fend them off one by one. However, more guards continued to swarm in from every direction; gunfire erupted as bullets whizzed past him, sparks flying in their wake. 0

Gritting his teeth, Chen Rui reached the entrance only to find himself surrounded by a dozen guards with their weapons trained on him. Just as he prepared for a desperate breakout, a familiar gunshot rang out. 0

Bang! Bang! Several guards fell to the ground as a figure rushed in from behind to cover him. 0

Eileen? Chen Rui was surprised to see her standing nearby, waving at him urgently—"Come with me!" 0

The two quickly broke through the encirclement; Eileen skillfully drew her handgun to cover Chen Rui as they made their swift escape. Moments later, they ducked into a small alley not far away, temporarily evading their pursuers' sight. 0

"What are you doing here?" Chen Rui panted. 0

Eileen smirked: "You caused quite a stir at Old's base; I certainly wouldn't miss such commotion." She looked Chen Rui up and down with a hint of approval in her gaze. "It seems you're not so weak after all if you managed to survive those Experiment Subjects." 0

"I managed to obtain some experimental records." Chen Rui handed her the reports. "This contains data on Old's ongoing biological experiments." 0

Eileen took the reports and flipped through them; her expression grew increasingly grim. "Old!" 0
