"Damn it! What a coincidence?!" Lin Yue couldn't help but feel a surge of emotions upon seeing these people. Among the newcomers, there were not only familiar faces, but one of them was someone she had been worried about. She glanced at Sang Yu with concern, her words caught in her throat. 0

"What’s wrong?" Sang Yu looked at Lin Yue in confusion, not understanding why she was giving her that look. But when she followed Lin Yue's gaze, everything became clear to her in an instant. 0

Fate is indeed a strange thing; after not seeing someone for seven years, they had crossed paths twice in just one month! 0

Sang Yu ignored the rapid beating of her heart and turned away, seemingly calm as she said, "Let’s eat." As she spoke, she piled a generous serving of beef rolls onto Lin Yue's plate. 0

Lin Yue and Sang Yu were classmates in high school, and they had been in the same class for three years. Naturally, she was well aware of the situation between her friend and Lu Jingzhi. She knew just how much Sang Yu liked Lu Jingzhi—so much so that after they broke up, Sang Yu nearly fell into depression and even took a leave of absence from school. 0

Looking at her friend’s expressionless face, Lin Yue's lips moved as she finally couldn’t hold back any longer and asked, "Sang Sang, are you okay?" 0

Sang Yu paused while picking up food, shaking her head. "I’m fine. What could possibly be wrong? That was ages ago; I’ve moved on." She then popped the vegetables into her mouth as if the people who had just entered had no effect on her at all. 0

Lin Yue observed her seemingly unaffected friend. Had she really moved on? Among their circle of friends, Lin Yue couldn’t claim to understand Sang Yu completely, but she felt she knew about eighty to ninety percent of her. 0

If she had truly moved on, then why was it that she hadn’t accepted any of the many suitors who pursued her? Lin Yue looked at her beautiful and slender friend; there were quite a few people interested in Sang Yu, many of whom had good qualities. Yet, all had been rejected without exception. Lin Yue couldn’t help but suspect that Sang Yu still liked Lu Jingzhi, but every time she asked, Sang Yu denied it. 0

"Lin Yue!" A man’s voice rang out in the bustling restaurant. 0

Just when things couldn’t get worse, Jiang Han spotted her among the crowd. Was she really that noticeable? Lin Yue couldn’t help but mutter under her breath in frustration. Damn! Was this kid’s eyesight too good? She truly didn’t want to greet him right now. 0

She and Sang Yu were just out for a meal; how did they end up running into these people? It felt like misfortune had come knocking at their door! 0

She couldn’t take it anymore! Lin Yue had no idea how many times she had cursed that night. If her mother found out, who knows if she'd want to shove her daughter back into her womb for a do-over. 0

"Aren't you abroad? When did you come back?" Jiang Han exclaimed in surprise as he walked over to Lin Yue, followed by Lu Jingzhi and others. 0

Seeing them approach, Lin Yue glanced at her friend again. Sang Yu was still expressionless as she ate hot pot. With no other choice, Lin Yue stood up to greet them with a forced smile and said, "I just got back a few days ago. Are you out dining with friends?" If one listened closely enough, they could detect a hint of gritted teeth behind her words. 0

Jiang Han was too absorbed in his excitement at meeting old classmates to notice anything unusual about Lin Yue. 0

"Yeah! It’s the weekend; just hanging out with friends. By the way, we have several high school classmates here." 0

Lin Yue replied sarcastically, "Thanks for the reminder! I have eyes; I can see for myself—clueless idiot." 0

"You should have called me when you got back! I could have organized a welcome party for you; it’s been ages since we all met." 0

Lin Yue had a bit of a boyish personality—carefree and straightforward—so they had gotten along well during high school. 0

After graduation, we didn't completely lose touch; we would occasionally reach out to each other. 0
