Lin Yue woke up several times along the way, only to doze off again in a daze. After more than four hours of travel, she had managed to sleep through most of it!
Ah, Lin Yue stretched lazily.
"Let’s go, Ancestor!" Sang Yu rubbed her sore shoulders. If Lin Yue didn’t give her a massage that night, she would change her surname!
"Let’s go, let’s go!" Lin Yue felt a bit guilty watching Sang Yu massage her own shoulders. She quickly grabbed her backpack and eagerly took down the suitcase from the overhead rack, pushing one suitcase with one hand and following Sang Yu closely.
Feeling some relief in her shoulders, Sang Yu took the suitcase from Lin Yue's hands. Pushing two suitcases alone was quite a task.
The two of them took a taxi from the train station to the hotel they had booked online.
"This is so comfortable!" Sang Yu sighed contentedly as she lay on the soft bed.
After lying there for a short while, she opened her suitcase and pulled out her own bedding set. She didn’t like using hotel sheets and blankets; too many people had used them, and no matter how much they were disinfected, it still felt awkward. Using her own made her feel more at ease, so she always brought her own bedding when traveling.
Sang Yu quickly changed into her bedding set and then took a shower; she had worked up quite a sweat during the journey.
It was just past three o'clock, and it was still hot outside. She told Lin Yue they would head out after six, so she planned to take a nap first. Since childhood, she had a habit of taking an afternoon nap every day, regardless of whether it was winter or summer. If she didn’t nap, she would feel drained in the afternoon.
Because Lin Yue had been sleeping on the train, Sang Yu hadn’t dared to doze off herself; she was worried about thieves and felt more secure watching over their luggage.
After two hours of sleep, Sang Yu woke up feeling refreshed. She changed into a light green dress, tied her hair up in a bun, applied some simple makeup, and grabbed her small handbag before heading out looking fabulous.
"Yue Yue, let’s go!" Sang Yu knocked on Lin Yue's door and called out from outside.
"Coming, coming!"
"Did you sleep well?" Seeing her friend looking so spirited told Sang Yu that Lin Yue had indeed rested well. After being friends for so long, she knew all of Lin Yue's little habits very well.
"Yeah! Let’s go eat?"
"Sure, let’s eat first. We just had a quick bite on the train for lunch; I’m feeling a bit hungry now."
"What should we eat?"
"Of course we’re going for seafood! We have to eat seafood by the seaside."
Lin Yue hooked her left arm around Sang Yu’s as she searched for restaurants on her phone. They strolled forward slowly while looking for a nearby seafood restaurant with good reviews online. It was only about two kilometers away, so they decided to walk there.
The seaside city had such fresh air; even though it was hot during the day, it would be pleasantly cool at night.
The restaurant was quite busy; even the tables outside were filled with people. It didn’t seem like a shady place; there shouldn’t be any incidents like the "Giant Shrimp Incident," Sang Yu thought to herself.
As they looked over the menu together, Sang Yu found it reasonably priced and couldn’t help but order a bit more than usual. The two of them stared at the table piled high with dishes and exchanged glances—had they ordered too much?
Lin Yue nervously touched his nose, feeling a bit too excited and having accidentally ordered a bit too much.
"Can we finish all this?" Sang Yu asked, looking at Lin Yue with a hint of melancholy.
"It's fine. If we can't finish it, we can take it home for a late-night snack," Lin Yue replied.
Sang Yu nodded; that was the only option they had.
*Burp.* Sang Yu let out a satisfied burp. "I can't eat anymore. Thank goodness I'm wearing a dress; if I were in jeans, I’d probably pop a button right now."
