Looking at Sang Yu's dazed expression, Lu Jingzhi felt his earlier anger dissipate almost instantly. It seemed he still had a strong attraction to her. He stood before Sang Yu, raised his hand, and gently closed her mouth. Was she not afraid of getting sand in there?
Sang Yu snapped back to reality, shaking her head to avoid getting lost in her admiration. She revealed a perfect set of eight teeth. What a coincidence, Lu Xian, we meet again. Had it really only been two hours since their encounter that morning? What kind of twisted fate was this, bringing them together time and again?
Upon hearing Sang Yu address him, Lu Jingzhi raised an eyebrow. "Lu Xian? I thought we were already familiar with each other. Does calling me Lu Xian seem too distant for you, Teacher Sang?"
"You're joking," Sang Yu replied. "I need to find my friends now, so I’ll take my leave." She didn’t want to get entangled with him any further and turned to walk away.
In that instant as Sang Yu turned, Lu Jingzhi reached out with his right hand, grabbing her wrist. With a firm pull, he drew her into his embrace. One hand held her wrist while the other tightly wrapped around her waist, causing gasps from those around them.
Wow! This handsome guy is so assertive! I like it! Is this what they call a real-life CEO falling in love with me? Brother, doesn’t this look like a scene where the girl is escaping and the CEO is chasing after her? A girl watched the two closely pressed together with sparkling eyes. Wow! The guy is handsome and the girl is beautiful; this is just too perfect!
Lost in her excitement, the girl didn’t notice her brother giving her pointed looks. Seriously? A CEO falling in love with me? Looks like she’s been reading too many novels. I wonder why your grades have been so poor this semester? Are you just reading novels all day?
Hearing her brother's exasperated voice, she slowly turned her stiff neck to look at their mother standing a meter away. She wanted to cry and shot a resentful glance at her brother as if asking why he hadn’t warned her. He shrugged, indicating he was powerless; he had already tried to give her hints.
"Mom, let me explain," she began.
"I don’t want to hear it! What are you going to say to defend yourself?"
"Mom, please think about our image here! We’re in public; let’s not speak so rudely or people will laugh at you."
"Laugh? Let them laugh! I’m not looking for anyone; why should I care about my image? And you think my words are rude? Just wait until you see how rude my actions can be." She attempted to roll up her sleeves but then remembered she was wearing a swimsuit with no sleeves.
The girl had already jumped away three steps when she saw her mother’s impending actions. Her mother’s martial arts skills were no joke; one strike could easily knock the dinner from someone’s stomach.
"Where do you think you're running off to?! Stand still!"
"You stand still! I swear I won’t hit you!" The plump mother was left panting heavily from chasing after her daughter, struggling to catch her breath.
"You can’t fool me; I’m not that three-year-old anymore!" Hmph! If she believed anything her mother said, then all those years of beatings would have been for nothing.
Meanwhile, the commotion between the mother and daughter had everyone around them laughing uncontrollably. On the other side, however, Lu Jingzhi and Sang Yu remained unaffected by the chaos. Sang Yu felt stiff as she stood there, acutely aware of the large palm resting on her waist, radiating heat as if it could scorch her.
"Lu Jingzhi! What are you doing? Let go! Hurry up and let go!" Sang Yu exclaimed in panic. With so many people watching, she felt her face burning intensely.
