After returning from Qing Cheng, Lin Yue went straight to work. After enjoying a leisurely half month, it was time to contribute to the company again. Sang Yu, on the other hand, returned to her family home, relishing a month of being pampered with meals served and clothes brought to her. Two days before school started, she packed her things and returned to her small apartment. As a homeroom teacher, she had quite a bit to prepare before the new term began. 0

Time always seemed to fly by when busy. It had been nearly two months since Sang Yu last saw Lu Jingzhi. During this time, she occasionally thought of him, but those thoughts were fleeting as she was preoccupied with her work. 0

She was responsible for teaching Chinese to two classes of third graders while also serving as the homeroom teacher for one of them. However, last month, the Chinese teacher for the third and fourth classes went on maternity leave. The school was short on Chinese teachers and couldn’t find replacements right away, so the principal asked her and another single Chinese teacher to take on an extra class each. The principal explained that they were the only two single teachers in the third grade while all the others had families and children to care for. But they assured them that their hard work would not go unrewarded; they would receive a raise. 0

Was being single a crime these days? Sang Yu thought to herself. Should she just find someone to marry? It wasn’t like they were being forced into it; it was just that they were both young and too polite to refuse. 0

The principal even said that in consideration of her situation, he assigned her the third class since it was adjacent to the first and second classes she had previously taught. Sang Yu felt that was quite shameless of him—what difference did it make between the third and fourth classes? It was just a few more steps to walk. 0

But Sang Yu simply wanted one thing: freedom! Freedom! 0

The weather in Yun Cheng had been fluctuating wildly lately, with temperatures rising and falling unpredictably. She wasn’t sure if it was because she hadn’t dressed appropriately for the weather, but this morning after getting up, Sang Yu felt a heaviness in her head and a slight pain in her throat; her voice was somewhat hoarse. 0

After pouring herself a cup of warm water and drinking it, she felt a little better in her throat. She then took out a packet of cold medicine from her medicine cabinet, mixed it with water, and packed a few more packets into her bag to take to school. 0

After two consecutive classes, Sang Yu felt as if her throat was on fire. Breathing out hot air as she opened her mouth, she quickly walked back to the office holding an empty cup. She hurriedly grabbed another cup from her desk and gulped down half of it, finally feeling some relief in her throat. 0

Thinking about having to teach the third class next, Sang Yu felt dizzy at the thought. "Mom, please come save me; I can’t hold on much longer." 0

" Teacher Sang, are you still feeling unwell?" Wu Laoshi noticed Sang Yu slumped over her desk and asked with concern. 0

Sang Yu waved her hand at Wu Laoshi. "Don’t mention it; my throat feels like it's on fire." 0

"Wow! How did your voice get so hoarse?" Wu Laoshi exclaimed in surprise as Sang Yu’s usually soft and sweet voice had turned into a raspy croak mixed with nasal tones. 0

"I still have some Xigua Frost here; you should take a couple." Wu Laoshi opened his drawer and handed some Xigua Frost to Sang Yu. 0

Teachers often used their voices a lot, so many kept Xigua Frost handy in their drawers. Sang Yu didn’t hesitate to accept it; after all, colleagues were there to help each other out. 0

Thank you, Wu Laoshi. I just finished using it and haven't had the chance to buy more yet. It's all her fault for being lazy. Xigua Frost ran out, and she kept putting off buying it. 0

Oh, don't mention it. Wu Laoshi is always straightforward. 0

It was tough waiting until school was over; Sang Yu felt like she couldn't hold on for another second. 0

After putting on her coat and tying her scarf, Sang Yu finally dared to step out of the office. 0
