Sang Yu looked at the two slips of paper in her hand, feeling like crying. "Doctor Uncle, I really don’t want to get a shot!" 0

"Go on, get your medicine and then get the shot. You should talk less for the next couple of days; your tonsils are quite inflamed," the doctor replied. 0

Sang Yu protested, "You want me, a teacher, to talk less? I just want to ask if you’re serious, Doctor. Those kids won’t listen unless I yell at them at least ten times a day!" 0

With a resigned expression, Sang Yu prepared to get her medicine and shot. Just as she reached the door, the doctor’s voice called out from behind her, "Oh, by the way, you’ll need another shot tomorrow morning. It’s best if you come back tonight too." 0

Sang Yu grimaced, letting out a forced laugh. 0

As expected, there was a long line outside the pharmacy. Sang Yu had no choice but to endure her discomfort and queue patiently. She noticed a girl in front of her leaning against her boyfriend, and she couldn’t help but feel a pang of envy. 0

At that moment, Lu Jingzhi's image flashed in her mind. Sang Yu shook her head, trying to shake off the thought of him. It was all his fault! She had almost forgotten about him, but he kept popping up in her mind lately. 0

After what felt like an eternity of waiting, she finally got her medicine. However, before she could even enter the injection room, she heard the wailing of children from inside. Sang Yu felt her legs weaken at the sound. 0

See? It’s not that she was cowardly; it really hurt! 0

Finally, it was her turn. Trembling, Sang Yu sat on the chair and turned her head away, tightly closing her eyes and refusing to look at the long needle. 0

"Relax; if you’re this tense, it will hurt more," the nurse said as she pressed on Sang Yu's muscle. "Wow, you’re really tense!" 0

Sobbing internally, Sang Yu wished she could relax but felt completely unable to control her body. 0

"Mommy, look at that auntie! She’s so grown up and still scared of getting a shot! I’m braver than her!" a little voice piped up. 0

Sang Yu opened one eye just enough to glance at the child who spoke; he looked about four or five years old. She felt embarrassed! 0

The nurse chuckled and shook her head. "It’s surprising how scared adults can be of shots," she said while preparing for the procedure. 0

Suddenly—AH!!! The moment the needle pierced her skin, Sang Yu couldn’t help but cry out. 0

"Nurse! You’re too fierce! Can you be a little gentler?!" 0

Covering the spot on her left buttock where she had been injected, Sang Yu limped out of the clinic. She felt slightly better holding onto her backside. 0

That Doctor Uncle lied; he said the nurse was skilled and that it wouldn’t hurt at all! She would never believe him again—sob sob sob! 0

Once home, Sang Yu didn’t even feel like eating dinner; she had no appetite whatsoever. 0

Obediently taking her medicine, she collapsed onto her bed and fell asleep almost immediately. Perhaps it was because she was sick and felt exhausted or maybe due to some sleep-inducing ingredient in the medicine; regardless, within moments, Sang Yu was fast asleep. 0

That night, Sang Yu had a restless first half, sweating profusely and feeling sticky all over. It wasn't until the latter part of the night, when her body stopped sweating, that she was able to sleep more soundly. Overall, the quality of her sleep was quite good. With sufficient rest, she felt much better in the morning compared to the previous day. 0
