As Lu Jingzhi walked past the bar, he didn't forget to pick up Sang Yu's coat from the side and wrap it around her body. The temperature in the hot bar was high, and Sang Yu was not pleased.
She squirmed, refusing to let Lu Jingzhi dress her, and his face darkened to the point where it seemed like water could drip from it.
"Hey, girl, come on, sit down and take a break," An Yu quickly intervened, stopping Lin Yue.
Lu Jingzhi's expression was one that absolutely should not be disturbed; otherwise, they would all be in trouble.
"Who are you calling 'girl'? What kind of relative are you mistaking me for?" Lin Yue shot a glance at An Yu. Although this man looked decent enough, she had no time to entertain him; she needed to rescue her friend. Who knew what kind of madness Lu Jingzhi was up to?
"Beautiful lady, don't misunderstand. We're friends of Lu Jingzhi, not bad people. Come on, sit down and have something to eat," An Yu signaled to his companions with a glance. They had grown up together as brothers, and with just one look, they understood each other's intentions.
"Yes, yes, beautiful lady, please sit down and rest for a while."
Lin Yue eyed the man before her suspiciously. "Lu Jingzhi's friends?"
"Yes, yes!" An Yu nodded vigorously.
"Hah! That makes you no different from bad people. Birds of a feather flock together; if Lu Jingzhi is no good, then his friends must be the same."
Lu Jingzhi's friends: Innocent bystanders here!
Lin Yue planned to bypass An Yu but didn't expect him to block her path completely. Just then, Han Zongqing approached and together with An Yu, they each grabbed one of Lin Yue's arms and hoisted her onto the sofa.
"Hey! What are you doing? This is kidnapping! I’ll report you!" Lin Yue yelled angrily as she kicked her legs in the air.
An Yu said, "Lao Lu, my friend is pushing the boundaries of legality here to help you; you better remember this!"
Sang Yu stumbled along with Lu Jingzhi's pace, her wrist gripped tightly enough to hurt, causing her brows to furrow together in discomfort.
"Let go! It hurts!" Sang Yu looked at the man in front of her but the swaying motion made it impossible for her to see who he was.
Lu Jingzhi seemed not to hear as he continued walking upstairs.
"Um, who are you? Let go!" Sang Yu lifted her foot to kick at the man ahead of her.
Lu Jingzhi was caught off guard by the kick to his calf and abruptly turned around.
Bang! Sang Yu couldn't stop in time and bumped right into Lu Jingzhi's solid body.
"Ouch!" she exclaimed, rubbing her nose that had collided with him. Tears welled up in her eyes as she thought how hard his body was—oh no, it hurt so much! Her nose must be crooked now!
He reached out and poked Lu Jingzhi's chest with his finger, murmuring softly, "You're really too hard; it hurts when I bump into you."
Lu Jingzhi looked at the woman in front of him, his expression darkening. What nonsense was she spouting? A flicker of unknown emotion passed through his eyes as he decided to simply lift the woman and carry her into the private room.
Ugh! Sang Yu felt like she was going to be sick from the jostling.
Once inside the room, Lu Jingzhi set her down against the door. He observed her dazed eyes, flushed cheeks, and the way she seemed blissfully unaware of her own allure due to her drunken state. This version of Sang Yu only deepened Lu Jingzhi's gaze.
With his left arm tightly wrapped around Sang Yu's slender waist, he used his right hand to pinch her soft chin between his thumb and forefinger. He noticed that her coat had somehow slipped off and lay forgotten on the floor.
