Releasing Sang Yu, Lu Jingzhi reached out to help her straighten her somewhat disheveled clothes.
Sang Yu was currently in a state of confusion, standing there as Lu Jingzhi moved about her. She didn’t understand why things had turned out this way between them. They had broken up, hadn’t they? It had been seven years since they last saw each other, hadn’t it? He didn’t like her, did he? Yet, why was he treating her like this? This was something only couples would do. For a moment, neither of them spoke.
Sang Yu didn’t want to talk, while Lu Jingzhi pondered how to begin. Would confessing his feelings suddenly frighten Sang Yu?
Before he could say anything, Sang Yu covered his mouth with her hand. The faint scent from her palm filled Lu Jingzhi’s nostrils, and the desire he had just suppressed seemed to stir again. His self-control had always been strong; otherwise, he wouldn’t have remained untouched amidst temptation. Yet somehow, Sang Yu could easily ignite his desires every time.
Taking a deep breath, Lu Jingzhi tried to calm himself. The warmth of his breath brushed against Sang Yu’s soft palm, causing her heart to flutter. She fixed her gaze on Lu Jingzhi’s eyes.
“Don’t say it; I know,” she thought as she looked into his beautiful eyes. No matter whom he looked at, they seemed so full of affection. In the past, she had lost herself in those eyes. But now, that was no longer the case.
Lu Jingzhi looked at Sang Yu with surprise. Did she really know? Did she know that he liked her?
“I’ve already repaid what I owed you; we no longer owe each other anything. You can go now.” Sang Yu opened the door to let Lu Jingzhi out. She had kissed him forcefully before, and today he had kissed her back; now they were even.
Lu Jingzhi was taken aback; this situation felt wrong. Didn’t she just say she knew? If she knew, why was she pushing him away? Shouldn’t she be happily embracing him and showering him with kisses?
Sang Yu remained silent as she pushed Lu Jingzhi toward the door with all her strength. She needed some time alone and didn’t want to see him right now.
With a loud bang, Sang Yu closed the door, shutting Lu Jingzhi out completely.
Lu Jingzhi stood there in shock: ???!!!
Was he just kicked out??? Hmm, this woman has grown quite bold.
This was the first time he had ever been driven out by a woman. In the past, those women had all tried their utmost to lure him into their homes.
Of course! After all, he had been flirting with her; would she keep him around for the New Year?
Lu Jingzhi squinted at the door that had shut him out, as if trying to see through it. What she meant by "knowing" seemed to differ from what he had assumed.
From her tone, it sounded like she believed that after he kissed her today, they would no longer owe each other anything and would have no further relationship?
Ha! Was she thinking too simply? With things having gone this far between them, did she really think she could go find another man?
Qi Yue? Hmph! He wouldn't give them that chance. Sang Yu could only be his—no one else's.
Once he had set his sights on her, how could she possibly escape? That would make him look utterly incompetent.
However, it seemed he had frightened her a bit today. It looked like he would have to wait for another opportunity.
