"Am I pretty?" 0

Lin Yue stared at the message from her friend, completely baffled. What could have triggered this late-night inquiry? Nevertheless, she replied, "Especially, very pretty." 0

Sang Yu read her friend's exaggerated compliment and headed to the bathroom. Standing in front of the mirror, she scrutinized herself: delicate features, fair skin, and a tall figure. Perhaps she was indeed quite beautiful. 0

Unable to make sense of it all, Sang Yu decided to stop thinking about it. She had faced so many challenges before; what was there to fear now? Ignoring the flicker of anticipation in her heart, she drifted off to sleep. 0

Her mood had been quite good these past few days. Ever since they exchanged WeChat contacts, Lu Jingzhi sent her a message every night. Sang Yu would chat for a bit before finding an excuse to end the conversation. Tonight was no different: "Not chatting anymore; I’m going to sleep. Bye." 0

Lu Jingzhi glanced at the wall clock; the hour hand hadn't even reached nine yet. Did she really expect him to believe such an obvious excuse? Clearly, he did not. 0

Did Sang Yu think he would believe it? Obviously not. 0

But Sang Yu wanted to do this; she didn't want to compromise herself any longer. She assumed Lu Jingzhi would respond as he usually did—wishing her goodnight after she ended the topic. However, tonight was different. Her phone buzzed with an incoming video call from him. 0

Sang Yu hesitated, contemplating whether to answer. After hanging up, Lu Jingzhi called again for a second video chat. In the end, she picked up. 0

On the other end, Lu Jingzhi wore frameless glasses and appeared freshly showered, his hair slightly tousled over his forehead. He looked somewhat scholarly yet rebellious—a stark contrast to how Sang Yu had seen him before, leaving her quite taken aback. 0

Her heart raced wildly in her chest, pounding as if it might leap out at any moment. This was a different Lu Jingzhi—one that exuded a mix of sensuality and wildness. Sang Yu found herself unconsciously swallowing hard. 0

Lu Jingzhi wasn’t faring much better on his end either. What greeted his eyes was Sang Yu in a pink spaghetti strap nightgown that looked like silk, hugging her figure perfectly and revealing a patch of soft white skin. Though it was just normal attire after a shower, Lu Jingzhi felt inexplicably parched upon seeing her. Was it because of the heating making the air too dry? 0

However, when he noticed Sang Yu's damp hair, his brow furrowed slightly. Why hadn’t she dried her hair? 0

It was warm inside; she must have done so while preparing for bed. The air conditioning kept the room over twenty degrees Celsius, and her hair wasn’t very long—it would dry in an hour or two. 0

Indeed, sleeping was merely an excuse for her not wanting to chat with him; she clearly had no intention of going to bed just yet, Lu Jingzhi thought. 0

After saying that, Sang Yu realized she had let something slip. But so what? Tomorrow was Saturday; she didn’t have work and could sleep in as long as she wanted. Tonight, staying up late was perfectly fine; she could sleep whenever she pleased. 0

"Do you want to put on some clothes?" Lu Jingzhi's voice was slightly hoarse, his gaze unabashedly fixed on Sang Yu's exposed skin. 0

Sang Yu glanced down at her sleepwear, feeling that it was acceptable. After all, it covered everything that needed to be covered. Girls wearing spaghetti strap dresses were everywhere in the summer. 0

"No, it's too hot," Sang Yu replied, not realizing that her tone carried a hint of playfulness. Compared to before, she was now completely relaxed; it seemed that Lu Jingzhi's daily chats with her over the past few days had been quite effective. 0

"Are you sure you don't want to?" Lu Jingzhi raised an eyebrow, a teasing smile playing on his lips as he asked again. 0

Sang Yu shook her head firmly. "No!" 0

Lu Jingzhi nodded, "Alright, I'll just remember this." 0

"Alright? What do you mean by 'alright'?" Sang Yu asked, puzzled. 0

Lu Jingzhi didn't elaborate further. He leaned back in his chair, which slid back slightly, bringing him fully into view. He wore a white shirt on top and light gray pants below—clearly a set of loungewear—as he casually crossed his legs. 0

His right hand reached out of the frame and returned holding a pack of cigarettes and a lighter. Lu Jingzhi's long fingers pulled out a cigarette from the pack, placed it between his lips, lit it, took a deep drag, and exhaled a thick cloud of smoke. The whole scene exuded a mix of rebellious charm and languid decadence. 0

Sang Yu stared blankly at Lu Jingzhi smoking, her mind racing with a single thought: to pounce on him! To ravage him! 0

What should she do? She felt utterly defenseless against Lu Jingzhi's allure once again, completely captivated by his charm. 0
