Lu Jingzhi paused, seemingly surprised that Sang Yu had agreed so readily. A broad smile broke across his face, revealing his white teeth. 0

"How about tonight? The day is still a bit busy," he suggested. The company had just been established and was in its growth phase, so there was a lot to handle. After dinner, perhaps the two of them could catch a movie. 0

Sang Yu didn’t have to work; she was free both in the afternoon and evening. 0

Since Lu Jingzhi still had work to attend to, they chatted for another ten minutes or so. 0

"Goodnight," Lu Jingzhi said, his gaze lingering on Sang Yu with an intensity that seemed to reach through the screen. 0

Sang Yu felt that burning gaze even from a distance. 0

"Bye," she replied hurriedly, hanging up the video call with a sense of urgency, almost as if she were fleeing. 0

The next day, Sang Yu woke up past nine in the morning. Her eyes felt heavy, and she stood groggily in front of the bathroom mirror, staring at her panda-like dark circles. She sighed; how could she face anyone looking like this? 0

She had suffered from insomnia the night before, tossing and turning until she finally dozed off in the early hours of the morning. 0

Reluctantly, she decided to apply a face mask—something she had never done before. She couldn't help but blame Lu Jingzhi for it in her mind. 0

"Alright, alright, it's my fault!" she imagined him saying. 0

Realizing it was getting late and almost time for lunch, she quickly grabbed a piece of bread and a glass of milk for breakfast. 0

After eating, Sang Yu tackled a thorough cleaning of her apartment—a task that had become essential for her weekends. 0

Looking at her tidy little home brought her an indescribable sense of satisfaction. Sunlight streamed through the windows onto the polished floor, reflecting light that filled the entire room with warmth. Opening the windows, Sang Yu intended to let some fresh air circulate. 0

As soon as the window opened, a rush of cold air swept in, making her shiver. She quickly put on a jacket. 0

Half an hour later, after closing the windows again, she felt it was enough; the temperature inside had dropped several degrees. 0

After lunch, feeling restless since Lin Yue was busy this week and she didn’t plan to go out, Sang Yu actually enjoyed the freedom of staying at home. She took out her phone to find the suspense novel she was currently reading. 0

Though she appeared timid at first glance, she had a bold side when it came to certain things—like her love for suspense novels and movies. It was no wonder she and Sang Yu were such kindred spirits. 0

Ding ding ding! 0

The alarm clock rang, pulling Sang Yu from her thoughts. She realized she had dozed off while reading; insomnia really took its toll on her! 0

Fortunately, she had set an alarm beforehand; otherwise, she might have slept until nightfall. After splashing some water on her face, she felt much more awake. 0
