Hearing the laughter, Jiang Han looked over at Lu Jingzhi, who appeared to be in a state of infatuation. 0

"Brother, is spring here?" Jiang Han whispered as he leaned closer to Lu Jingzhi. 0

Seeing Jiang Han's lewd expression was almost unbearable, Lu Jingzhi pushed him away with disdain and stood up to leave the meeting room, humming a little tune that clearly indicated he was in a good mood. 0

Jiang Han watched Lu Jingzhi leave, touching his ruggedly masculine face. Had he just been rejected? 0

Knock knock. 0

Sang Yu opened the door, and indeed it was Lu Jingzhi who had arrived. 0

"Sit in the living room for a bit; dinner will be ready soon," Sang Yu said before turning to rush into the kitchen where she was busy frying vegetables. 0

"You go ahead; don’t mind me," Lu Jingzhi replied, oblivious to the concept of politeness. He kicked off his shoes and padded barefoot into the living room. After all, Sang Yu didn’t have any slippers that fit him. 0

He wondered if he should bring his own slippers next time. 0

Looking at the coffee table where two dishes were already prepared—a braised pork rib and a cold dish of bitter chrysanthemum—Lu Jingzhi felt his stomach rumble. He went to wash his hands and then pinched a piece of rib to taste. Mmm, delicious and tender; it practically fell off the bone. 0

Sang Yu emerged from the kitchen with a plate of food and caught him in the act of stealing a bite. "Did you wash your hands?" 0

"Nope." 0

"You’re using your hands without washing them?" Sang Yu shot him a glare. 0

"Haha, just kidding! I already washed them," he replied with a grin. 0

Sang Yu rolled her eyes at him. "So childish!" 0

Feeling embarrassed, Lu Jingzhi rubbed his nose awkwardly. 0

"Do you need help?" he asked. 0

"No need; my kitchen is small, and two people would just make it crowded," she replied. 0

Sang Yu had prepared three dishes and a soup for dinner, along with rice. 0

Lu Jingzhi ate with great satisfaction. It was rare to find girls who could cook nowadays; he really didn’t understand how this girl managed to make such delicious food. 0

After finishing dinner, Lu Jingzhi moved to wash the dishes. Sang Yu didn’t hesitate to let him do it; after all, she had worked hard cooking, so it was only fair for him to wash up. 0

However, when Lu Jingzhi finished washing the dishes and came back out, Sang Yu felt uneasy again. She wasn’t naturally chatty, and being in a small space with a man she didn’t know well made her feel even more awkward—she just felt uncomfortable all over. 0

Lu Jingzhi broke the silence: "You say we’re not familiar? We’ve kissed and hugged; how can you say we’re not close?" 0

"I was forced into it!" Sang Yu exclaimed. 0

Lu Jingzhi couldn't help but chuckle at the sight of Sang Yu fidgeting uncomfortably. Did she not realize that this was her own home? It felt as if she were in his house instead. 0

Sang Yu, feeling a mix of embarrassment and irritation, shot back, "What are you laughing at?" 0

The sight of her flustered state only made Lu Jingzhi want to laugh more, but he managed to suppress it. Clearing his throat, he replied, "I wasn't laughing at anything." 0

Sang Yu raised an eyebrow. "Hmm?" 0

"How about being my girlfriend?" Lu Jingzhi asked. He hadn't planned to propose so soon, but for some reason, the words just slipped out. 0

Sang Yu froze. Had she heard him correctly? Was Lu Jingzhi actually confessing to her? 0

"Sang Yu?" Lu Jingzhi called out when she remained silent. 0

"Hmm?" Sang Yu snapped back to reality. 0

"Will you be my girlfriend?" he asked again. 0

Feeling flustered, Sang Yu lowered her head. Her mind was a whirlwind of thoughts, and her hands trembled slightly. 0

"You should go first," she said finally. 0

"Hmm?" Lu Jingzhi didn't catch her quiet response. 0

"You should go first," Sang Yu repeated as she stood up and gently pushed him out the door. 0

Standing outside, Lu Jingzhi was left bewildered. Had he just been kicked out again? This was the second time now. 0

Did he scare her? 0
