Covering her pounding heart, Sang Yu felt an urgent need to share the news with someone. She took out her phone and called Lin Yue.
"Hello, little Sang Sang, are you missing me?" Lin Yue answered.
"Yue Yue, he confessed to me."
"Huh? What did you say? Confessed?" Lin Yue pulled the phone away from her ear and glanced at the name on the screen. It was indeed her friend.
"Yes."
"Who confessed to you? Your last blind date?"
"Lu Jingzhi, who else could it be?"
"Lu Jingzhi?! That dog couldn't hold back any longer? Isn't this a bit too fast?"
Sang Yu nodded, realizing that Lin Yue couldn't see her. "Yes, Lu Jingzhi."
"Wait a second, let me calm down." Lin Yue stood up from the sofa and began pacing in the living room. "I mean, how long has it been since you two got together? Isn't this a bit too quick? You didn't agree to him already, did you?"
"No, no, I didn't agree." Sang Yu hurriedly denied it.
Lin Yue sighed in relief. At least her friend hadn't been swept away by Lu Jingzhi's charm. She had noticed that Lu Jingzhi had feelings for Sang Yu long ago, but she hadn't expected him to confess so soon. She had underestimated him.
"Sang Sang, what are you thinking?"

"Do you still like him?"

Actually, when Sang Yu had pushed Lu Jingzhi away earlier, she felt quite anxious. She was afraid he would give up and also feared repeating past mistakes.

Yes, what was she afraid of? Afraid of breaking up in the future? But she never thought she would have any connection with Lu Jingzhi at this point; the worst-case scenario would just be returning to how things were before.
She was no longer the same Sang Yu as before; the current Sang Yu had become very strong, capable of enduring much. Once she realized this, the various emotions in her heart dissipated, and she felt considerably lighter.
"I know what to do now. I just need to follow my heart."
"What have you been up to today? You didn't come over for dinner," her friend asked.
"Well, heh, I had a bit of business to take care of today. I'll invite you over next week when I'm free," Sang Yu replied.
Sang Yu sensed something was off; her friend's voice sounded a bit guilty.
"Really?"
"Of course it's true," Lin Yue said earnestly. Did she really want to tell her that she spent the night tangled up with a man? No! No! No! She was still in a daze about it herself; it was better to hold off for now.
"Have you eaten yet?"
"I'm eating," Sang Yu replied, currently at the school cafeteria with her colleagues.
"What are you eating?"
Sang Yu snapped a picture of her meal and sent it over.
Something felt off. Yu Guoguo couldn't shake the feeling that Sang Yu had been acting strangely lately, often bursting into laughter for no reason—clearly, she was lovestruck.
"Hey, who are you chatting with?"
Startled, Sang Yu jumped as she realized how close Yu Guoguo had gotten. The latter leaned forward, facing Sang Yu directly.
"You scared me!" Sang Yu exclaimed, giving her friend a light shove.
Yu Guoguo slowly sat down and pointed at the corner of Sang Yu's mouth. "You really should get a mirror to see how you look right now."
"What do I look like?" Sang Yu touched her cheek but found no food particles there.
"You look lovesick!" Yu Guoguo pointed again at Sang Yu's mouth, which was still turned up at the corners.
"Lovesick?!" Sang Yu was taken aback and awkwardly touched her own mouth. Uh, it did seem to be upturned.
"Don't you have anything to say?" Yu Guoguo asked while eating, casting a glance at Sang Yu. She believed their friendship was still strong enough for such conversations.
