Of course, no matter what he thought inside, Lu Jingzhi showed no change on his face.
"Uh, Sang Sang, I'm leaving now. Have fun!" Yu Sangyu was pulled along by Yu Guoguo and within a couple of minutes, they reached the school gate. Lu Jingzhi's car was parked not far from the entrance, and as soon as they stepped out, they spotted it.
Yu Guoguo looked at the tall, handsome man in the distance with extraordinary charisma and excitedly tugged at Sang Yu's arm. "Hey, Sang Sang, is that your future boyfriend?"
Sang Yu quickly covered Yu Guoguo's mouth, feeling a bit embarrassed as she glanced around to see if anyone was paying attention to them. Once she confirmed they were alone, she sighed in relief. "Shh! Keep your voice down; what if he hears you?" Sang Yu whispered through gritted teeth. "You’re being so loud; are you trying to make sure everyone hears?"
"Oh, oh! Be reserved! Be reserved!" Yu Guoguo replied.
But isn’t that guy too handsome? Ahhh! I can’t take it! How can such a handsome man exist? He’s practically my Prince Charming!
Coughing deliberately a couple of times, Sang Yu shot a dangerous look at Yu Guoguo.
"Hey, Zhizhi," Yu Guoguo said with a grin. "This guy is already taken. Don’t worry; I’m just admiring him from afar. I won’t compete with you, hehe."
Sang Yu knew exactly what kind of person Yu Guoguo was—after all, they were close friends. She understood how much of a crush Yu Guoguo had not only on handsome guys but also on beautiful girls. She had only been teasing her earlier; it was just that Yu Guoguo’s infatuated expression made her want to laugh. Looking up at the man ahead, she thought to herself that the School Heartthrob still had his charm intact and indeed had an allure that could captivate girls.
Yu Guoguo was still mumbling quietly, "Why does this guy look so familiar to me?"
Suddenly, she exclaimed loudly, "Ah!!!"
Sang Yu jumped at the sudden shout. When did this girl become so jumpy?
"Isn’t that the guy from our office last time? Sang Xiaoyu, you two were high school classmates? Why did you act like strangers last time?"
"Uh, cough cough. It’s just that we hadn’t seen each other in a long time and no one came out," Sang Yu said sheepishly, unable to meet Yu Guoguo’s eyes.
Yu Guoguo looked at Sang Yu with an expression that said it all—what kind of look was that? Why did she seem so disdainful?
"Sang Xiaoyu," she continued, "what kind of look is that? You can’t even remember such a handsome guy? You must be blind with those pretty eyes of yours." Yu Guoguo wore a regretful expression.
And this handsome guy too—his eyesight isn’t great either; he didn’t even recognize his beautiful classmate. In this regard, you two are quite compatible.
Hearing this from Yu Guoguo made Sang Yu think to herself: Hehe, if only you knew what I looked like back in high school; if you were my classmate then, you probably wouldn’t recognize me either.
Just as Sang Yu was about to speak up, she noticed Lu Jingzhi walking towards her. She realized it wasn’t the right time for explanations and could only whisper back to Yu Guoguo: "It’s a bit complicated; I’ll explain later."
Lu Jingzhi approached after seeing Sang Yu talking with someone at the school gate.
Sang Yu waited until Lu Jingzhi walked over to her and said, "Have you been waiting long?"
Lu Jingzhi shook his head. "No, I just arrived."
"Oh, right! This is my friend, Yu Guoguo." Sang Yu pointed to Yu Guoguo as she introduced her, then turned to Yu Guoguo and said, "This is Lu Jingzhi."
Lu Jingzhi offered a smile he thought was friendly enough; he wanted to leave a good impression on his girlfriend's friend.
"You! You!" Yu Guoguo giggled, looking silly. Sang Yu felt embarrassed; was it too late to say she didn’t know this person?
Sang Yu discreetly poked Yu Guoguo, signaling her to be more reserved. However, the woman was too busy fawning over Lu Jingzhi to catch Sang Yu's hint.
Lu Jingzhi noticed Sang Yu's little gestures and found her incredibly adorable. He loved this side of her.
Finally snapping out of her daze, Yu Guoguo turned to Sang Yu and playfully winked at her while teasingly commenting on the situation.
