Lu Jing leaned intimately against Lu Qi's shoulder and asked, "Have you eaten? Where's Dad?"
Lu Jing's older brother, Lu Jingmo, moved out after getting married. It wasn't that his sister-in-law didn't want to live with her in-laws; after all, she and his brother had grown up together and were very familiar with their parents. It was his brother who wanted to enjoy a world of just the two of them, finding their parents a bit of a nuisance.
Moreover, Lu Fu was happy they weren't at home, as it allowed him to enjoy some quality time with his own wife.
All the men in the Lu Family are the same!
"Your dad is in the study."
Lu Fu had already handed over all matters of the company to Lu Jingmo. He was basically retired now, spending his days playing golf with old friends, sipping tea, and traveling with his wife. Life was quite enjoyable for him.
"What’s Dad doing in the study?"
"What else could he be doing? Practicing calligraphy! Lu Fu has recently become obsessed with it. Every evening after dinner, he spends two to three hours practicing."
"Oh, practicing calligraphy? I’ll go take a look at Dad. I think I heard my brother mention that he’s really into it now and bought a lot of rice paper."
"Go ahead," Lu Qi waved her hand absentmindedly; she was engrossed in her show and didn’t have time to chat with her younger son.
Knock knock knock.
"Come in."
"Dad! Are you busy?"
"Oh, our second young master is back!"
"Hehe, Dad, don’t tease me. You know my company is just starting out; I’m so busy I barely have time to sleep." Lu Jing walked over to the desk and looked at the characters his father had written.
"Whose fault is that? You chose not to return to your family’s business; you brought this on yourself!" Lu Fu showed no sympathy at all. After all, it was his son's choice to start a business on his own.
"You have my brother handling the company; besides, you should be grateful that your two sons aren’t fighting over inheritance. You must have done a lot of good deeds in your past life to end up with two good sons like us." He had no interest in taking over the family business; as long as he got some money from it later, he could do what he loved—how great was that?
"Get lost!"
"Hehe, not gonna lie, old man, your handwriting isn’t bad!"
As soon as Lu Fu heard Lu Jing compliment him, he instantly became proud. His younger son had good taste—just like him. Unlike his older son, who complained about buying rice paper and called it a waste—hump! No vision at all.
"Actually," Lu Jing said, "my brother is right; you are wasting paper."
"Well, you have good taste; you're better than your brother." Lu Fu looked at Lu Jing with approving eyes.
Lu Jing's mouth twitched; his father was still so confident.
"Of course! People say I take after you!" Flattery was Lu Jing's specialty.
"Ha ha, finally back for a visit. Go down and chat with your mom. She's been nagging about you these past few days. Make sure to come back more often; don’t keep her worrying."
He felt invigorated by his son's praise and could still practice for another two hours.
"Got it."
As Lu Jing went downstairs, he found Lu Ge Lin still watching TV. He caught sight of a sweet kiss between two characters on the screen and couldn't help but facepalm. "How old are they? Still enjoying this kind of Urban Romance Drama?"
"Mom, is the drama good?" he asked.
"It's great! This show is really special. When you have time, you should watch it; it's a perfect chance to see how others fall in love." Lu Qi didn't even glance at Lu Jing, completely absorbed. "Wow! So sweet! It’s making me so excited!"
Lu Jing thought to himself, wondering what his mom was thinking, making a grown man watch romance dramas. He might as well just end it all right there.
