It was Saturday, and the night before, during a video call, Lu Jingzhi had mentioned taking her to the hot springs and introducing her to a few of his good friends. So, Sang Yu woke up early that day to pack her things into her bag. 0

"Hey, Bao'er, are you up yet?" she heard Lu Jingzhi call her by the nickname he often used. There was an inexplicable sense of embarrassment whenever he called her that. She had protested before, but it was to no avail. 0

"Yeah, I'm up. Just wait for me downstairs; I'll be right down." Since she was going to meet his friends, she definitely couldn’t go out looking plain. After getting up and tidying herself up, she started on her makeup. So far, she had been in front of the mirror for half an hour. Unfortunately, she was not skilled at makeup; usually, she just applied some cream and lipstick. 0

"Take your time; it's still early," he reassured her. 0

Finally finished, Sang Yu looked at her reflection in the mirror. Well, it was passable at best; she had done her best. She grabbed her small crossbody bag and slung it over her shoulder, placing her keys, ID, and phone inside. She also carried another bag with a change of clothes in it. After checking to ensure she hadn’t forgotten anything, Sang Yu headed downstairs. 0

Lu Jingzhi was sitting in the car with the window down, smoking a cigarette. When he saw Sang Yu come out, he quickly extinguished his cigarette and got out of the car to take the bag from her hands and put it in the trunk. 0

After spending some time together, Sang Yu had come to understand Lu Jingzhi better. He was very different from the person she had known before; he was quite clingy. Although they didn’t see each other every day, they video-called daily. Even when Lu Jingzhi was busy with work, he would insist on video chatting with Sang Yu while working. They wouldn’t necessarily talk; they would just do their own things while occasionally glancing at each other until they fell asleep. 0

As for Sang Yu, perhaps due to past experiences, her approach to their relationship now was completely different from when they were in high school. She had become more passive and rarely initiated contact with Lu Jingzhi; she seldom called or texted him. 0

Since the car window was open and the temperature inside wasn’t too high, Lu Jingzhi’s first action upon getting in was to roll up the window. He took off his scarf first and planned to remove his down jacket once it warmed up. Without hesitation, he reached over and removed Sang Yu’s scarf as well, tossing it into the back seat. 0

"Okay," Sang Yu replied obediently with a nod. 0

Lu Jingzhi looked at the compliant Sang Yu with fondness. He couldn’t help but pull her into a hug in the passenger seat and leaned down to kiss her. He didn’t know how to explain it; he just really enjoyed kissing Sang Yu and felt like he could never get enough of it—something he had never experienced before. 0

"You messed up my lipstick!" Sang Yu shot him a glare in complaint. After all that effort on her makeup, he had come along and ruined it. 0

She took out her lipstick and mirror from her bag to touch up her makeup again since she would be meeting his friends later; she wanted to look beautiful. 0

Watching Sang Yu’s adorable expression made Lu Jingzhi chuckle softly as he cupped her face in his hands. "Let me see... Hmm, not messed up at all; you look beautiful." Her red lips glistened after being kissed by him—very pretty! 0

"Hmph!" Sang Yu ignored him and continued fixing her makeup since he had smudged her lipstick. 0

"I bought breakfast for you—your favorite: fried dough sticks and soy milk." Lu Jingzhi leaned back to grab the breakfast he had picked up on the way. 0

"Thank you!" Sang Yu smiled brightly as she accepted the breakfast from him, appreciating this thoughtful gesture from her boyfriend. 0

"Are we still being polite with each other? We never say thank you between us," Lu Jingzhi said disapprovingly when Sang Yu expressed gratitude. 0

"Where are we going?" Sang Yu asked while munching on her food. 0

Lu Jingzhi tapped the plate with one hand while answering Sang Yu's question. 0

"Is it far?" 0

"Not far, just about an hour," he replied. Lu Jingzhi was taking Sang Yu to the mountain lodge owned by his good friend, Xie Shixuan. It was located in the suburbs, and the drive from Sang Yu's house to the lodge would take roughly an hour. 0
