"Forget about them. What do you want to eat? What they want has nothing to do with us. I have to say, Lu Jingzhi, you really are something!"
"How about some stir-fried dishes?"
"Alright, let's go for stir-fried dishes. Xie Shixuan's chef is quite skilled; they make great stir-fry." Lu Jingzhi held Sang Yu's hand as they walked, chatting along the way.
The others followed behind, keeping pace with the two.
I must say, when Lu Jingzhi is serious about dating, he can be quite thoughtful. Sang Yu usually isn't picky about food, but she has her favorites. After spending some time together, Lu Jingzhi had gotten to know her preferences pretty well.
Braised Pork, Spicy Fish, Hot and Spicy Blood Curd, Spicy Stir-Fried Clams, Oyster Sauce Lettuce, Sour and Spicy Shredded Potatoes, Salad, and a Corn Rib Soup—these would do. Lu Jingzhi rattled off the order, all of which were Sang Yu's favorites.
When Sang Yu heard that Lu Jingzhi had ordered so many dishes, all of which she loved, she felt a bit embarrassed and apologetically smiled at everyone. Then she leaned closer to Lu Jingzhi and whispered, "Why did you order so much? There are so many of us; how can others order?"
"Lu Jingzhi! How can you order so much? What are we supposed to do now?" Bai An was the first to blow up. Although some of the dishes were her favorites too, like Hot and Spicy Blood Curd and Braised Pork, she was still annoyed by Lu Jingzhi's behavior.
"What’s wrong? I’m ordering what my girlfriend likes; do you have a problem with that? She loves these dishes. I have the money; I’ll order whatever I want. If you want something else, just ask your boyfriend to order it for you." Lu Jingzhi leaned back in his chair casually.
"You! You! Look at him!" Bai An was so furious that she jumped up and turned to complain to her boyfriend.
Qi Yan Che shot Lu Jingzhi a glare, urging him to tone it down.
Sang Yu discreetly tugged at Lu Jingzhi's sleeve from the side, signaling him not to go too far. After all, having been classmates with him for two years, she knew just how sharp his tongue could be.
Qi Yan Che pulled Bai An down into her seat and comforted her, "Honey, let’s not stoop to that dog man's level. He just wants to show off in front of his girlfriend. What do you want to eat? I'll order it for you!"
Although Bai An was still dissatisfied in her heart, she didn’t say anything more. In a huff, she ordered a large pile of food herself. The others saw this and thought it was great—they could just sit back and wait for their meal.
During lunch, as Bai An watched Lu Jingzhi fawn over Sang Yu like a lapdog, her mood inexplicably brightened.
Hmph! From now on, Lu Jingzhi will have someone looking after him too. She decided that if he bullied her again in the future, she would complain to Sister Sang Yu and see if he dared to mess with her again.
After lunch, everyone dispersed to rest. Lu Jingzhi accompanied Sang Yu as they strolled around the estate for a while before heading back to their room. Sang Yu planned to take a nap; she had a habit of napping in the afternoon—if she didn't sleep then, she'd feel drained later on.
"What are you following me for? Aren't you going to take a nap?" Sang Yu stood at the door of their room, looking at her man who was closely trailing behind her.
Lu Jingzhi looked at Sang Yu with a pitiful expression. It was rare for him to get out and have fun; why did Bao'er always want to chase him away?
"Baby, it's just that you won’t let me sleep in the same room tonight; do you really have to kick me out just for a nap? Besides, it's daytime—I won’t do anything inappropriate! I just want to be with you; are you really going to be this cruel?"
Sang Yu couldn’t stand seeing Lu Jingzhi look so pitiful. She wondered if she was being a bit unreasonable after all; they were a couple after all. It wasn’t unusual for them to share a room at night—what was wrong with taking a nap together?
"Fine then! But you have to behave and just sleep; no talking," Sang Yu finally relented but didn’t finish her sentence.
"What can happen?" Lu Jingzhi teased as he tried to lighten the mood with Sang Yu.
"What do you think? Do you still want to come into my room?" Sang Yu said, a hint of irritation in her voice. It was a threat; how could this person not know what he shouldn't do? Did she really have to spell it out for him?
"I'm sorry, darling. Don't worry, I promise I'll behave. I won't move a muscle without your permission," Lu Jingzhi replied, as if he were about to raise his hand and swear an oath.
