A few of them went to their rooms to change clothes before gathering at the restaurant.
When it came to deciding what to eat in winter, hot pot was undoubtedly the first choice. Besides, there were three girls, all loyal fans of hot pot. It was a mystery why most girls had such a strong affection for hot pot and spicy skewers.
At the dining table, Lu Jingzhi's performance once again left everyone in awe; he was almost feeding Sang Yu directly. Xie Shixuan and the others were covered in goosebumps, unable to resist teasing them. Sang Yu signaled to Lu Jingzhi several times, but he acted as if he hadn’t seen her, continuing his own way. Eventually, Sang Yu gave up struggling and let him be.
Throughout the meal, Sang Yu's face remained flushed as she finished eating. In the end, everyone let Lu Jingzhi off the hook for Sang Yu's sake.
After dinner, they noticed that it was still early and decided to go karaoke since they would be leaving tomorrow. The entertainment facilities at this resort were quite comprehensive; they even had karaoke rooms.
In the private room, An He and An Yu stood in the center, each holding a microphone and singing passionately. They poured their hearts into it, believing that only such fervor could express their deep feelings.
Sang Yu sat quietly on the sofa, watching them sing. Since graduating, she rarely went out with friends; mostly she just had meals or went shopping with Lin Yue. It had been a long time since she visited a place like this.
Her past experiences of going out like this were during college with her roommates; after graduation, she hadn’t gone back.
Lu Jingzhi lounged lazily on the sofa, his left hand resting on the back of Sang Yu’s sofa while he held a cigarette in his right hand. His long legs were crossed casually, exuding an air of nonchalance.
"Sister Sangyu, don’t just sit there! Come sing!" After finishing a song, An passed the microphone to Sang Yu. This song had taken a toll on her voice; she needed a break.
Sang Yu quickly waved her hands at An, pleading for mercy. She was tone-deaf; as Song Teacher said, while others sang for money, her singing could cost lives. She preferred to spare everyone from that ordeal.
At that moment, Lu Jingzhi leaned closer to Sang Yu and whispered in her ear, "Why don’t you sing a couple of songs? Don’t want to?"
It wasn’t that Sang Yu didn’t want to sing; she simply didn’t dare: "Let’s skip it. I’m tone-deaf; singing could be fatal."
Hearing her words made Lu Jingzhi laugh. "It’s not that serious! My precious has a lovely voice; you can’t be that bad at singing."
Seeing Lu Jingzhi’s disbelief, Sang Yu helplessly replied, "I’m telling the truth! My college roommates said my singing could kill them."
Thinking back to how they reacted when they first heard her sing made her want to laugh. They could never understand why someone so beautiful with such a pleasant speaking voice could sing so poorly. It must have been an oversight by heaven.
From then on, they never let her touch the microphone again. So every time they went out to sing, she would obediently sit as an audience member, munching on snacks and sipping drinks. Thankfully, she didn’t have a singing addiction; otherwise, her roommates might not have invited her along.
"Oh well! If I’m bad at singing, so be it! We’re just here for fun. Here," An insisted as she shoved the microphone into Sang Yu’s hands without giving her a chance to refuse.
She thought Sang Yu was just shy and couldn’t let go of her inhibitions; as a good friend, she should help push her forward a bit. Besides, even if it sounded bad, it wouldn’t matter much.
"Thank you so much!" Sang Yu exclaimed sarcastically.
