"You finally have time to come out!" Lin Yue teased as she sat across from Sang Yu. Ever since Sang Yu started dating Lu Jingzhi, their meetings had drastically decreased. Look, they hadn't seen each other for over a month; in the past, they would meet almost every week.
"Hey, don't just blame me. The last time I asked you out, you were the one who was busy, so you can't blame me for that," Sang Yu replied, insisting that she wouldn't take the fall for it.
"Hey! I’ve noticed you've become bolder lately; it must be from hanging out with Lu Jingzhi. Hmph! I knew it—being with him isn't good for you."
"Seriously? You're complaining about someone else's boyfriend while talking about their girlfriend? You should be grateful I'm not someone who prioritizes romance over friendship."
"Hmph! Sang Xiaoyu, if you ever prioritize romance over friendship, I will cut ties with you!"
"Yes, yes, I wouldn't dare, Miss. Now hurry up and decide what you want to eat." Sang Yu handed her phone to Lin Yue so she could order.
Lin Yue picked two of her favorite dishes. Since it was just the two of them, they didn’t order much—each chose two dishes they liked and finally added a soup.
"So how are things going with Sheng Yi?" Sang Yu asked.
"With me in charge, he can't escape my grasp! I've already got him!" Lin Yue said proudly.
Sang Yu gave Lin Yue a thumbs up. "Little Yue Yue, you're amazing! When did this happen?"
"Hahaha, it's been about a month now. They got together not long after they rolled into bed," Lin Yue laughed heartily.
"What???" Sang Yu exclaimed.
"My goodness, why are you shouting? I'm not deaf!" Lin Yue replied.
"No, Lin Yue Zhi, why are you blaming me? You've been together for a month and only now tell me!"
Lin Yue felt a bit guilty; she had been so caught up in her happiness that she forgot to inform her best friend.
"Alright then, let's call it even; neither of us should say anything about the other," Lin Yue suggested.
"Fine, let’s just agree that they shouldn’t hurt each other," Sang Yu said.
"You seem to be living quite well these days," Sang Yu remarked as she looked at her radiant friend.
"Cough! It's not bad!" Lin Yue said while flipping her hair back. Suddenly remembering something made her face turn red.
Seeing Lin Yue like this made Sang Yu feel that her friend was thinking of something inappropriate.
"You've changed, sister; you're not the same as before. Ugh, it's embarrassing—all because of Sheng Yi!" Lin Yue confessed.
After dinner, Sang Yu settled on the sofa to binge-watch a show when her phone on the coffee table rang.
She picked it up and saw that it was a video call from her parents.
“Mom,” Sang Yu said.
“Da Bao, have you eaten?” she asked.
“I have. Have you eaten?” he replied.
“I just finished. Your school is about to have a break, right?”
“Yeah, soon. We get off next Friday.”
“Your sister is coming back tomorrow. Are you going home right after your break?”
“Is Sang Xia getting off so early? It’s only been two years since she left university, and she’s already forgotten that university breaks are generally earlier.”
“Is this early? Our school had a break last week.”
“Alright then, I guess she’s the last one in the family to get a break.”
“When you’re on vacation, call your dad. He can drive to pick you up. That’s the perk of being a teacher; we have winter and summer breaks.”
“We’ll see, Mom. I can take a taxi back myself; it’s not far, and there’s no need for Dad to come pick me up.” Thinking of Lu Jingzhi, Sang Yu didn’t dare to directly agree with her parents.
