The two of them, having eaten and drunk their fill, leaned against each other, slumped on the sofa.
"Should we watch a movie?" Lu Jingzhi asked.
But Sang Yu didn’t want to move. Having just eaten, she preferred to nestle at home with him. She knew she wouldn’t be able to go out for the next few days, and she couldn’t keep leaving her sister alone at home. It wasn’t that she was worried about her sister; rather, she was afraid her sister would discover that she was in a relationship. So, she cherished this moment they had together.
"Are you still worried I’ll find out? I already knew!" Sang Xia chimed in.
Hearing Sang Yu's words, Lu Jingzhi chuckled softly.
Sang Yu turned to look at Lu Jingzhi, puzzled. "What are you laughing at? Did I say something funny?"
Lu Jingzhi shook his head with a smile and gently stroked Sang Yu's hair. "It's not about going to the cinema; we have a home theater."
"You have a home theater?" Sang Yu exclaimed in shock. She couldn’t believe it! But then again, it made sense; after all, Lu Jingzhi wasn’t short on money.
"Yeah, I like watching movies, so I turned one of the rooms into a home theater. I watch movies there when I have time."
Lu Jingzhi took Sang Yu by the hand and led her into the home theater. The room wasn’t large—about twenty square meters—with four sofas against the wall and a coffee table in front of them. On the opposite wall was a projection screen.
"What do you want to watch?"
At Lu Jingzhi's question, Sang Yu suddenly felt like laughing. It seemed that whenever they were together, it was all about watching movies.
"Let’s watch 'The Investiture of the Gods: The Rise of Chaoge.' I wonder if it’s available to watch now." She hadn’t seen this movie when it was released before; she had heard about it but hadn’t planned on watching it initially.
Surprisingly, after its release, everyone’s reviews had been quite good. Several of her friends had gone to see it and strongly recommended it to those who hadn’t watched it yet. She had also seen some clips and trailers online, which looked impressive. She heard that Director Wu Ershan had poured everything he had into this film.
Lu Jingzhi was also aware of this movie but hadn’t seen it either.
"I’ll check," he said as he pulled out his phone. "It’s available but requires payment. That’s fine as long as we can watch it."
He found the movie on his phone and connected it to the projector. "You sit tight; I’ll get some fruit and drinks for us."
Sang Yu settled onto the sofa, and when Lu Jingzhi returned and sat down beside her, he playfully pulled her onto his lap. "Don’t move!"
Sang Yu rolled her eyes. "If you want to hold me, just do it; it’s not like I’m the one who’ll be uncomfortable."
"Can you please calm down?" Sang Yu said with a hint of annoyance as she scolded Lu Jingzhi. "You say you love holding me; fine! But you’re making it hard for me to focus on the movie!" She couldn’t help but shout at him; he just wouldn’t stop kissing her neck.
"I won’t kiss you anymore." Seeing Sang Yu getting upset, Lu Jingzhi finally settled down and began to watch the movie seriously. Gradually, they both became engrossed in the plot. The scenes were grander than anything they had seen before—especially captivating for Sang Yu—making all of Wu Ershan’s hard work worthwhile.
When the movie ended, Sang Yu still felt unsatisfied and eagerly anticipated when the second part would be released.
"I wonder when the second part will come out?" she mused as she struggled to get up from Lu Jingzhi’s lap. Being held like that wasn’t as comfortable as it seemed; she didn’t understand how he could endure sitting like that for over two hours without feeling tired.
It seems that I need to be clear; it looks like there's no hope for today. Lu Jingzhi stretched her numb legs and arms, thinking to herself, "I'm tired, but I'm happy."
Oh! It's almost ten o'clock; I should head back. I didn't notice the time while watching the movie, but now that I look at my phone, it's already this late. If it were summer, it wouldn't feel so late, but in winter, this time is indeed quite late. By the time I get home, it'll probably be close to eleven.
