Lu Jing looked at his girlfriend, who was laughing so hard she could barely breathe, and leaned closer to Sang Yu, puzzled. "Is it really that funny? I think it's just average. Am I too hard to please, or is your sense of humor just too low?"
Sang Yu wiped away the tears streaming from her eyes due to her laughter. "Come on, don't you think they're really hilarious?"
Lu Jing shook his head, not understanding her amusement.
"Fine, I shouldn't have asked," Sang Yu replied.
Despite the confusion, Lu Jing felt that their movie outing had been a success; his girlfriend was clearly enjoying herself.
After leaving the cinema, Lu Jing took Sang Yu to a hotpot restaurant run by An Yu. It had been a long holiday, and Sang Yu hadn't had hotpot in ages; she was craving it desperately.
Sang Yu sighed contentedly. "This is great! Finally getting to eat the hotpot I've been thinking about."
As they stood outside her apartment building, in a dark corner, faint sounds could be heard—soft splashes of water that made one's cheeks flush. Even the moon seemed to shy away behind the clouds.
Sang Yu couldn't help but make a sound as she felt Lu Jing becoming increasingly bold. She pushed him away gently. "This is outside! What if someone sees us?"
Although Lu Jing eventually let go of Sang Yu, he still held her waist tightly, planting soft kisses on her rosy lips.
"Come on, it's not like anyone's watching. Is it illegal for me to kiss my own wife?" Lu Jing said with a sense of righteousness.
Sang Yu thought his audacity was growing thicker by the day. If he was going to be shameless, she had to maintain some dignity.
"Alright, we’re not parting ways forever. It’s getting late; let’s go!"
"Why don’t you just move in with me? That way I can see you every day," Lu Jing suggested, feeling quite pleased with his idea.
"No way!" Sang Yu rejected firmly.
"Why not?" Lu Jing asked, confused as to why his girlfriend would refuse. "Aren't we about to get engaged?"
Sang Yu replied, "We can move in together after we get married."
"Married? If you don’t move in now, am I supposed to just stay alone in an empty house?"
It seemed he needed to bring up marriage sooner rather than later and talk to his parents about setting a wedding date quickly.
"Just wait!" Lu Jing said as he turned to leave, thinking to himself: If I don’t marry you soon, I might as well change my last name!
Sang Yu watched Lu Jing's retreating figure with a heart full of confusion: What was he waiting for? What was he planning?
Of course, I'm just waiting to get married!
Sang Yu couldn't make sense of it, but it didn't matter; after all, Lu Jing often acted, well, a bit crazy.
