Lu Jingzhi glanced at the rearview mirror and saw Sang Yu lying obediently in the back seat. He couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief, grateful that she hadn't gone on a drunken rampage.
"Where are we going?" The sudden voice startled Lu Jingzhi, nearly causing him to slam on the brakes.
Turning his head, he saw that Sang Yu had somehow sat up, leaning forward and wedged between the driver’s seat and the passenger seat, looking at him intently.
"Bao'er, do you know who I am?" Lu Jingzhi asked tentatively.
Sang Yu tilted her head, giving him a look that seemed to say, "Are you silly? How could you not know who I am?" "Of course, you’re my husband!" she exclaimed, then leaned forward to wrap her arms around his neck and planted a loud kiss on his cheek. "Mwah!"
Lu Jingzhi's grip on the steering wheel tightened as he kept his eyes fixed ahead. The movement of his throat betrayed that he had just unconsciously swallowed hard. He swore that his precious girl was definitely still drunk because when she was sober, she would never call him her husband—not even with threats or persuasion.
"Baby, be good! I'm driving, sit tight," Lu Jingzhi coaxed gently.
"I don't want to! I want kisses!" Sang Yu pouted and leaned in to plant another kiss on his face.
Caught off guard by yet another kiss, Lu Jingzhi realized this could not go on. "Be good now; we'll kiss when we get home, okay?"
Sang Yu immediately became upset. "Wah wah wah! You don’t love me anymore; you won’t let me kiss you!"
After drinking, Sang Yu was truly different from her usual self—passionate and affectionate. Lu Jingzhi actually enjoyed this side of her; however, he couldn't help but worry about what would happen when she sobered up and remembered her behavior. She might just want to find a block of tofu to end it all.
"Of course I love you! You're my favorite! Baby, let’s save the kisses for home," Lu Jingzhi quickly reassured her.
"I don’t believe you! You won’t even let me kiss you!" Sang Yu cried out again, tears welling up in her eyes. In her mind, if he didn't kiss her, it meant he didn't love her.
Lu Jingzhi felt at a loss for words with a drunken girl beside him. He could only speed towards home. Luckily, there were fewer cars on the road at this hour, and they arrived ten minutes faster than usual.
He parked quickly and got out of the car, then opened the back door for Sang Yu to get out.
Sang Yu stretched out her arms toward him. "Hug me!"
Lu Jingzhi smiled indulgently; he actually enjoyed this version of Sang Yu. Normally when they were together, she seemed a bit reserved and not very clingy. Even if he didn’t call her for days, she wouldn’t reach out first as if it didn’t matter whether he was around or not.
This side of her was much better. If only she could be like this all the time, Lu Jingzhi thought to himself.
Sang Yu chimed in playfully, "Good thing I’m not like this all the time; otherwise, I’d really have to find a block of tofu to crash into."
He had never seen Sang Yu like this before; it was such a delightful surprise. Perhaps in the future when they were together, they could enjoy a little drink now and then. Lu Jingzhi happily envisioned their married life ahead.
The walk from the underground parking lot to their front door was quite challenging for Lu Jingzhi as Sang Yu was anything but calm in his arms—she was all over him.
With her arms tightly wrapped around his neck, Sang Yu planted kisses on his cheeks one after another while one hand wandered down to caress his chest muscles, letting out satisfied sighs. In that moment, Sang Yu acted like an unabashed little flirt.
