"From now on, I'll buy it for you." It was such a simple matter that she could easily pick it up while shopping for herself. Fortunately, Lu Jingzhi had no idea what Sang Yu was thinking. If he knew that buying clothes for him was just an afterthought, he might have thrown a fit. For now, he was still lost in the beautiful dream of having a wife to buy him clothes.
Sometimes, ignorance is indeed a kind of bliss.
The next day, after breakfast, Lu Jingzhi took Sang Yu to try on engagement outfits.
"Mr. Lu, you’re here! This way, please." The staff rushed over as soon as they spotted Lu Jingzhi. The Lu family was one of their major clients, and they could not afford to be negligent.
Lu Jingzhi nodded slightly, holding Sang Yu's hand as they followed the staff inside.
Sang Yu quietly observed the store's decor. It wasn’t the modern luxury she had imagined; instead, it had a hint of classical charm.
"Has Manager Jiang arrived?" Lu Jingzhi asked after taking a seat.
"Manager Jiang hasn’t arrived yet, but she should be here soon. Mr. Lu, please wait here with this lady," the staff replied, glancing at Sang Yu with understanding. She must be the one who was about to get engaged to the Second Young Master of the Lu family.
Sang Yu took a sip of the tea brought by the staff. "Hmm? This tea is fragrant and really good!" She couldn’t help but admire it. No wonder wealthy people had such high-quality tea.
If anyone asked Sang Yu how she knew it was high-end tea, she would simply say that it tasted expensive.
"Shall we take a look around?" Lu Jingzhi suggested as he watched Sang Yu’s little head bobbing with curiosity.
"Is that okay?" Sang Yu's eyes lit up at that moment; she felt that the clothes were beautiful.
"Of course! The store is open for people to browse."
Sang Yu loved Qipaos and felt excited seeing them hanging on display. However, when she glanced at the price tags, her excitement turned into anxiety. The prices were astronomical! Her hands trembled as she carefully hung the dress back in place, afraid she might accidentally ruin something so precious—this was her entire year’s savings!
"Do you like any? Let’s buy a few," Lu Jingzhi said upon noticing her interest in the Qipaos.
Sang Yu quickly waved her hands. "No, no! I have plenty of clothes already. Let's forget about it; I can’t possibly wear something worth tens of thousands."
Lu Jingzhi didn’t press further but had already made up his mind to buy her a few pieces.
Just then, Jiang Shanyun walked into the store. The staff approached him and exchanged a few words before he turned his gaze toward Lu Jingzhi and Sang Yu.
He walked over and said with a grin, "Oh! Mr. Lu is here!"
"You’re not doing your job well if you’re late for work," Lu Jingzhi replied to him.
"What? It’s the weekend! Just because you’re working doesn’t mean I have to work too! If it weren’t for you coming here today, I would’ve been sleeping in at home."
"It seems my presence holds quite some weight," Lu Jingzhi teased back.
"Of course, you are our God of Wealth; how could I not give you face?" The two of them had a good relationship, so their conversation was quite casual.
Then, Jiang Shanyun turned his gaze toward Sang Yu. "So, you must be the younger sister. I am Jiang Shanyun, the manager of this store and a friend of Lu Jingzhi."
Sang Yu extended her right hand to Jiang Shanyun and shook it gently, smiling as she replied, "You can call me Brother Jiang. My name is Sang Yu."
"Lu Jingzhi has a great eye; you two truly make a perfect pair!" Jiang Shanyun exclaimed. "Shall we go take a look at some clothes?"
