I didn't expect you to get married right after your engagement. 0

"Since you're already engaged, why not rush into marriage? Are you a fool?" Lu Jingzhi said, then suddenly thought of something and patted Jiang Shanyun on the shoulder, teasingly adding, "Aren't you a bit envious?" 0

"Why would I be envious? I'm single and proud! Being single is so joyful—free and unrestrained. Just look at those friends of mine who are married; they get bombarded with calls if they stay out even a little late. They all rush home, fearing they’ll be kicked out if they're late. If they upset their wives, they have to kneel on durians; even passing gas in bed gets them kicked out! Just thinking about that makes me shiver. No way am I getting married! Not even if it kills me!" 0

Jiang Mu had fainted in the bathroom, lamenting what sins she must have committed in her past life to have such a child who drives her crazy. Was it too late to send him back? 0

Lu Jingzhi shook his head, wearing a look of pity. This guy was truly unfortunate, completely unaware of the joys of marriage. He knew how happy a man could be once he had a wife—someone who cares whether you've eaten enough or if you're warm enough, and someone to share your life with. He wouldn’t have to watch his dad and older brother flaunt their love anymore; soon he would have a wife too. What a great blessing that was! 0

"What kind of expression is that?" Jiang Shanyun wondered. Why did he feel like Lu Jingzhi was pitying him? 0

"I do feel pity for you!" Lu Jingzhi replied. 0

Jiang Shanyun wanted to say more but then saw Sang Yu walk out of the fitting room. 0

The red dress, while not as form-fitting as a qipao, was still very flattering. The round neckline highlighted Sang Yu's long neck, giving off a hint of sensuality. The skirt fell just below her calves, revealing her delicate white ankles. Her fair skin glowed against the vibrant red fabric. 0

Sang Yu stood in front of the mirror, admiring herself and clearly pleased. 0

"Do you see this?" Sang Yu asked Lu Jingzhi. 0

"Yes, it looks great! My precious really is stunning; she looks good in anything." 0

"Which one do you think is better, this one or the qipao? A tricky question." 0

"I think they both look special! Each has its own charm." Lu Jingzhi felt he had answered perfectly. 0

"What do you think I should wear for our engagement?" 0

"I think you should wear the red one; after all, it's an engagement—red is festive! The qipao can be worn at home later." 0

"But I like the qipao more. I still want to wear that one." She thought about it and realized she really loved the qipao. 0

Lu Jingzhi noticed Sang Yu looking at him with her head down, seemingly lost in thought. "What's wrong?" 0

He shook his head, "Nothing." In truth, he was trying to figure out how to convince Sang Yu to wear the red dress. Given how much she liked the qipao, it might not be easy. 0

"Why don't you try this one?" Jiang Shanyun said as he held up a black outfit that was hard to make out. 0

"Is there one for me too?" Lu Jingzhi asked in surprise; he hadn't heard his mother mention making one for him. 0

"Yes, but there's only one set for you." Jiang Shanyun handed the clothes to Lu Jingzhi and urged him to try them on quickly so they could leave sooner and avoid being bombarded with more relationship advice from these two. 0

When Lu Jingzhi stepped out of the fitting room, Sang Yu's eyes were filled with astonishment. Lu Jingzhi was wearing a black Zhongshan suit, and compared to before, it felt as if she had transformed into a completely different person. 0
