"How come you look different after some time? I remember you didn't look like this before."
Gao Yuanyuan thought Lu Jingzhi was complimenting her for becoming more beautiful, and she couldn't help but feel a bit shy. She glanced at Lu Jingzhi, not regretting her decision to undergo surgery for him.
Lu Jingzhi looked her up and down, clicking his tongue. "Your chin is sharper than before; it could be used as a tool. This guy is quite bad, just saying it outright, pausing for effect."
Gao Ranran's previously shy expression turned sour at his words.
Lu Jingzhi continued as if he hadn't noticed her discomfort. "Your nose bridge is a bit too high; it looks out of place on your Eastern features. And your double eyelids are too wide; they look fake. The doctor who did your surgery isn't very skilled. And what about your chest..."
Gao Ranran lowered her head to glance at her chest. What was wrong with it?
"It's way too big, how much silicone did you have injected?"
As Lu Jingzhi spoke, Gao Ranran's face grew increasingly pale. She noticed the people around them were staring at her, and she wished she could disappear on the spot. Finally, she exclaimed, "Wow, Lu Jingzhi! You've gone too far! I changed myself for you, and this is how you talk about me? I’d rather die than marry you now; you're so sharp-tongued!" With that, she ran out of the Western restaurant in tears.
Lu Jingzhi remarked casually, "As if I was going to marry you."
Sang Yu watched as Gao Ranran lingered by the door before finally retracting her sympathetic gaze. She wondered if that girl would be left with a shadow from this experience. "Don't you think you went a bit overboard?" she asked. "It's really pitiful for a girl to be humiliated like that in public by a guy!"
"Where did I go overboard?" Lu Jingzhi replied confidently. "This is for her own good; I’m just preventing her from having another chance to humiliate herself in front of me." He wasn’t one to coddle; he preferred to nip problems in the bud and save time.
Sang Yu shook her head, dismissing the ridiculous thought that Lu Jingzhi had become more childish and shameless since being with Gao Ranran. Surely, such a sweet girl wouldn’t lead him astray—impossible!
"And why were you looking at her chest? What does it mean for a grown man to stare at a woman's chest?"
"Baby, it's not my fault; it's just hard to ignore how much silicone she had injected," Lu Jingzhi replied innocently.
Sang Yu considered Gao Ranran's figure and had to agree—it was indeed hard to overlook.
"This couple is too cruel!" Zheng Yifan observed Gao Ranran's dejected state and felt a twinge of disdain instead of amusement. Her fighting spirit seemed too weak; clearly, she had set her expectations too high for Gao Ranran. This woman was just as foolish as ever—big chest, empty head.
At that moment, Zheng Yifan felt relieved that she hadn’t gotten involved with such a sharp-tongued man; he was better suited for Sang Yu. She couldn’t handle someone like him.
Thinking back to how embarrassed Gao Ranran had been in front of everyone made her shudder with relief that she hadn’t stepped in; otherwise, she might have faced humiliation too.
She pulled out a mirror from her bag and anxiously checked her reflection—everything seemed normal. Then she glanced down at her own chest and sighed in relief; it was just right—not too big or small—nothing anyone could criticize.
Finally feeling at ease, she looked towards the direction where Gao Ranran had left and then back at the half-eaten steak on her plate. After some hesitation, she decided it was best to finish her meal since it had been quite expensive anyway.
