On the day of her wedding, Sang Yu sat on the bed dressed in a kimono, surrounded by younger members of the Sang Family and her friends, who were discussing how to prank Lu Jing later.
"Sang Sang, is Lu Jing's best man handsome?" Yu Guoguo asked Sang Yu with hopeful eyes. She was a year younger than Sang Sang, and while others were getting married, she was still single.
"Well, they are quite handsome. Lu Jing's best men are Jiang Han and An Yu. Although they can be a bit wild, they do have good looks," Sang Yu replied.
"Really? You have to introduce me to them!" Yu Guoguo exclaimed. She was at the age where she should be nurtured by love.
"Little Yu Guo, I think you shouldn't get your hopes up too high," Lin Yue said, trying to temper her friend's enthusiasm. "Jiang Han is someone I know very well; I've known him longer than I've known Sang Yu. As for An Yu, he has had his share of flings. It's probably best to steer clear of him."
"What? Are you saying there's no chance?" The light in Yu Guoguo's eyes dimmed instantly as she turned to Sang Yu, still unwilling to give up hope. "Is there really no chance?"
"Well, I wouldn't say there's absolutely no chance. Just take a look first," Sang Yu said, seeing the pitiful expression on Yu Guoguo's face. She didn't want to discourage her friend too harshly. "Besides, you don't have to focus solely on those two best men. Lu Jing has plenty of single friends coming today. You can check them out too. If you find someone you like, let me know and I'll ask Lu Jing about him."
"You're right!" Yu Guoguo suddenly slapped her thigh. How could she have forgotten that? "Don't worry; I'll look seriously and carefully for a boyfriend among them." Filled with determination and confidence, she believed that with so many people attending today, she would surely find someone appealing. After all, she was a beautiful girl with an excellent figure.
Lin Yue chimed in, "I won't say anything more; I'm just giving you a thumbs up!"
The Sang Family had arrived yesterday; Sang's grandpa and Sang's grandmother were staying at the villa while the others had been arranged by Lu Jing to stay at a hotel.
"They're here! The groom is here!" someone shouted.
"Close the door! Quickly close the door!"
With a loud bang, the door to Sang Yu's room was slammed shut as everyone inside braced themselves for what was to come.
Sang Wenjie stood in the yard looking at Lu Jing across from him, feeling conflicted. Since their first meeting had resulted in a generous red envelope from his brother-in-law, he felt it would be awkward to make things difficult for him now.
At that moment, when Lu Jing saw Sang Wenjie, an idea struck him. This kid was quite the little money-grubber; he needed that red envelope! Lu Jing reached out his hand toward Jiang Han beside him.
"Huh?" Jiang Han didn't catch what Lu Jing had said.
"Red envelope!" Lu Jing exclaimed impatiently.
"Oh," Jiang Han said as he pulled out two red envelopes and handed them over.
Lu Jing glanced at them with disdain. "Why so stingy? Get more."
Jiang Han retorted, "Am I stingy? Fine, it's your money; do as you please." He pulled out another handful of red envelopes and handed them to Lu Jing with an annoyed tone. "Here."
Lu Jing took them all and stuffed them into Sang Wenjie's hands. "Thank you, brother-in-law!" Sang Wenjie grinned widely, quickly stepping aside to avoid being a burden to his brother-in-law.
Sang Wenqing chimed in teasingly, "Little traitor!"
Sang Wenjie thought to himself that those who know how to read the situation are the true talents. Today, his sister was definitely getting married. Blocking the way, whether there was one more or one less person didn’t matter; he decided to step back first!
